France played like individuals again. Spain just so comfortable on the ball. Rodri ran the game in the middle.
If we get through I would play low block on them and play Rashford out right for the counter attacks with pace. |

Totally agree. Cucurella is the best full back in the world at the moment. Spain are so well organised, especially at the back and France played like it was a game too far. Very disappointing and France never took the game to them. |
Yeah Cucarella's fun to watch and, I'm sure, a pain to play against. I'm also a real Dani Olmo fan, after watching him in his years with RB Leipzig. Nice to see him playing more offensively since he moved back to Barca. [Post edited 14 Jul 23:42]

Delighted.
I'm a huge fan of Spanish football. They're serious operators who've produced so many joyous and quality footballers in the last couple of decades in particular.
What's more, they've managed to change their entire mentality, and have gone from serial losers to serial winners. That's a huge achievement that takes hard work in every aspect of their sport.
England are on a similar path and are not far off now. So much has improved in the last decade.
But tonight was not an upset, so should England win tomorrow night, and let's hope they do, I'd be confident that they will pay Spain more respect than France did with their shoddy workrate. |

Wow this thread has slipped a long way down since England got eliminated and their own thread exploded with very interesting posts .
However the WC final is actually being threatened by wildfire smoke and ash you cannot make it up.
For the last 2 days that disgusting pall has hovered over the Midwest USA and its no joke let me tell you.I try and cycle for 1 hour daily in season but yesterday and this morning I threw in the towel right away it was effecting my lungs .

With Mbappe now top scorer, Messi needs two goals minimum to get the golden boot (based on more assists). Now, the Argentina team clearly adore him but what will they do….. play in a way that tries to get him goals at the risk of losing or play to win the World Cup at the risk of him not getting top scorer.
The former would be ideal for them, if it pans out that way and they win with him getting at least two but it’s risky. Personally they should do the latter, it’s a team game as much as he is considered a deity.
