OK I know it's France but in a straight knockout game they showed no ambition, basically played with a false nine. Their leading scorer was left on the bench, maybe he had an injury but really odd not to play him at all.

The bloke up front whose name I’ve forgotten now wasn’t fit. But the guy who came in for him against Canada looked handy and scored so was surprised he didn’t start.
They dealt with the first half well. Dull as anything but it makes sense to try and get to the second ad break and nick one late. Was a bit bizarre how they just seemed to give up. Maybe France are just that good, maybe they were knackered but the big players didn’t turn up at all. | | | |

100%. Just rewatched it: 61 minutes, replay shows the ball hits Rodri's arm and then his hand - not pure chance. Belgium players protest. No VAR review. And apart from Murphy mentioning it watching the replay it's never mentioned again. Weird? |  |
