Sea you Later Pompey Farton Park edition Portsmouth Vs QPR Match Thread 20:08 - Aug 14 with 103157 viewsSpaceman_P

Ok guys... I'm going to take it upon myself.

Portsmouth 1 QPR 2

We will go 1 down and think to ourselves "s.hit the bed, here we come 16th"

Second half will be better, going to.see a fluke goal by Saito who will be a sub and that new bloke Boy Kemper will bag a goal.

Hey Ho Let's Go

I wondered that ? Not heard any rumours but Madsen is our most sellable asset

REDACT this before someone sees it and takes competitive action to buy him….

Think it might be 433 with Edwards as the 6. JS preferring his ability to take the ball and progress the play over Varane

Have they started the warm up yet? Any ideas on formation?

I'm going to coin a line from Gene Hackman here towards Jule's team selection.

4-1-4-1 Edwards in front of the defence all out attack on the break

The line-up is certainly a surprise. I presume it is a back four and Edwards is in midfield. Looking at it optimistically it's just a precaution resting our CMs. Poku and Saito are in theory talented wingers, and hopefully are in form based on training and that's why they are in. If it's an open game hopefully we can use Burrell's pace and exploit openings. If it's tight and cagey I think we'll struggle to break them down with that line-up.

Wow.......what a real strange team selection.

Madsen is a massive loss, Surprised Kone is benched although his first touch is appalling and gives the ball away so much, Shocked Saiko is starting and Smyth on the bench, Not overjoyed about Vale starting either.

JS making some very 'odd' decisions.........saying that I think we have enough in the Team to win this match against an average Pompey team.

It's certainly not the team that Julien had in mind on Monday.

That is an interesting line up. Missing players notwithstanding, I am really looking forward to seeing a fit Poku this season. He looked a cut above, during pre-season.

Expect Varane, Kamara and Kone to make an appearance. Wonder what's up with Madsen? I heard he REDACTED his REDACTED whilst giving his REDACTED a damned-good REDACTED and her REDACTED caught REDACTED REDACTED, REALLY REALLY REDACTED video.

But don't tell anyone.

Probably just 433 /451 with Edwards the central ball winner, Poku & Saito wide with the hope Chair / Vale can retain more of the ball and look for Burrell over top in the channels.

Interesting though, looks a little lightweight.

Thats my hallucination flushed down the armitage shanks then . No Smyth.

Maybe you witnessed Smythy bagging two late winners after double dropping and he came on as sub?

Cherish and enjoy life.... this ain't no dress rehearsal

Wasn’t it Saito and Poku getting steamrollered down the lines at Fratton last Xmas as we failed to get out our own half for 45 minutes?

I’m slightly mystified unless Pompey have gone a bit soft in the last 9 months.

Reminds me of the line from Argo, about making the best, bad decision possible.

He must have to deal with that challenge quite a lot.

5ft 3 inch Saito today chipping away at Portsmouths back four before finally being ironed out in the 62nd minute by their 6ft 6" centre back.

I wondered the same but would be a big surprise, given we spent a fair bit on him and surely one good season won't have elevated his value to the point it would make sense to sell... I'd assume he's worth far more to us than we would get for him ?

Hello to everyone after the summer break btw!

Hope to be pleasantly surprised but whatever that midfield is it screams soft London dandies being outfought. I don’t rate Ebou Adams but he could physically hold his own against the five of them.

Think we will get steam rollered physically today even more so with Burrell as the lone forward 3 1 Pompey for me sadly
