Sad to say I don't have a good feeling about this one. Think we'll start the game very sharp with a quick goal by Vale. But after that it will be all (mostly) rovers, scoring 2 or 3. Hope I'm wrong, obviously. Edit: just want to add, if we can win there with an impressive 90 min performance then I believe that we will be the bog's dollocks this season.

Watching the first couple of minutes of this it seems Mowbray has identified how much we rely on Pierce Charles to get us going. I’ve often wondered if it might be a tactic to actually mark the goalkeeper in some circumstances to cut out a back pass and eliminate Charles from the game. It would certainly flummox and disrupt us. I’ve never seen it done where a player is tasked, at times, to just stand in an offside position next to the keeper.
any result bar a loss, a draw or nick a win. i am thinking with our dire record there a 2-0 loss in a miserable northern weather affected game. nice pies though.

Ewok Park has never been our favourite hunting ground. Our fanbase have too many scars from watching us playing there in poor weather, losing key players to injury and matches by the odd goal. It's nearly as bad as facing a trip to the City Ground.
From my weather app, the monsoon season appears to have begun in Lancashire. I just hope we escape with a result and nobody gets crocked in the forecasted conditions, but I can't shake that nagging feeling that we'll lose 1-0, again.

To be fair, apart from the score line, lots of positives from last week and we’ve had a break this week. (Hopefully shooting practice) I’m going for a 3-1 win for us. Burrell, Mbengue and Smyth. Think we may see Madsen and Cirkin start

Do we know what our midfield availability is? While I think Edwards has played well, I don't think he has the creativity of those who play regularly in midfield to help unlock defences. I'd be keen to see him move back to centre back today (though JCS has played well). Also would love to see Cirkin start but imagine it's probably too soon for him and will only be a sub. Lamptey definitely needs to build up minutes to get sharp again.

Got every chance of 3 points if we play well and take our chances......they are nothing special.
The Manager has a few 'big calls' to make with his team selection. Adamson will be benched and be replaced by Cirkin otherwise the back 4 will be the same unless he decides to 'rest' JCS and play Edwards there, makes some sense because Edwards is not a midfield player and we have a few games coming up very soon. Not sure he will leave JCS out though. Central Midfield may be Edwards (hope not though), Madsen (hopefully), Chair (played well at Pompey & v Bolton). I would like to see Kamara start if he is fit (Good player). Wide he has options, Vale (he likes but not my favourite so I hope he is benched), Poku, Smyth & Saiko are up for wide midfield. Personally I would start Smyth because of his pace & application & Poku but it depends how they have trained this week. Up front is not easy because none of them have played well for some time, I would start Burrell because of his pace.
Manager got some very good options, will be interesting who starts but we got a pretty rounded squad.
