I honestly don't know what to make of Raheem Sterling anymore. Still only 31, the lad seemingly has everything one could desire in life but clearly has issues. When Police attended the scene of the crash they found him in the passenger seat with several cans of nitrous oxide in his lap. The video footage is pretty damning. I hope he gets the help he needs before it's too late.

When I posted a thread when he was originally arrested - Several here were saying poor Raheem and how its not his fault, and some even suggested he probably wasnt guilty
Well I am sorry, but I have no sympathy - You make a conscious decision to get behind the wheel of a car like that with drugs in your system you deserve everything you get and more. I am only grateful no innocent party was involved as so often happens.

Life clearly has not been a bed of roses for Raheem.
Wasnt his father shot dead when he was two years old, so came from a difficult background, then he seemed to turn his life around big time, as an incredibly successful career at club and international level, but has clearly been drifting into darker times. And yes that does not excuse this. Its a conscious decision to get into the sports car when not on planet earth. Clearly not the actions of a man in control of his mental state at that time.
He needs help clearly but also his choice could have seriously harmed nit only himself but many others.
Again, the life of a young super rich man, is not always something that your everyday jo should neccessarily envy.
A bit like with Dele Ali, Raheems talent and fame comes at a cost and some cant deal with those extra pressures.
And like others have said, he will get some form of punishment, but i do hope also he can get his life and his senses back on track.
i certainly dont envy these guys. Life can be hard enough without the whole world knowing your business. Doesnt excuse this stupid decision but hope he rebuilds his life, thankful that he did not cause any lasting damage from this incident.

Had he not been so fortunate and crashed into a member of your family or a friend and either maimed or the unthinkable and they had lost their life.
Would they still deserve a second chance??
Because it was more by luck than judgement that he didn't involve someone else - He certainly didn't care, and sorry if this comes across harsh and I understand MHI but he is no better than many people nowadays who think they are above the law

It's not an excuse but it can be a trigger for why someone acts in that kind of way.
He may have millions of pounds but money obviously isn't making him happy. He's made a mistake and he should be punished for it but once he's given a prison sentence or whatever he gets what next, do you not try and find a way to get him help and lead a better life. I'm sure those who were bullied as a kid or have gone through some sort of difficult time got some help to get them through it. | | | |
