But what I can tell you is that I'm doing the thread because this will be my first in-person match of the season. Tooting Park Run, QPR v Lincoln and then Rocket From The Crypt at the Electric Ballroom. That's a packed Saturday. I'm going for 3-0 to the Rs. Because f**k Lincoln, right? I'm prepared to delete this bullshit if Spaceman comes back to duty. Come on you SUPERS.

I felt a bit deflated after the Burnley game, but today I’m happy. We won, end of. Enjoy the rest of your weekends fellow R’s.
| Match Thread: will QPR show NEW METTLE or will LINCOLN PARK the bus? on 21:22 - Nov 7 with 0 views | QPRBrian | Let’s face it, not the most fluid of performances was it but overall we deserved to win, as we have done in other games this season but only drawn. We now have the depth in the squad which made the difference today, chairs composure with the no look pass being the best example. I’m happy heading home with the 2 week break ahead with 3/4 away from home coming up not looking so daunting. We needed to win today and found a way to get it which gives me hope that maybe…maybe we could be around there towards the end of the season. Msdesen and Burrell take this team up a level, we know this. | | | |

| Match Thread: will QPR show NEW METTLE or will LINCOLN PARK the bus? on 19:46 - Nov 7 by StreathamRanger | Maybe tell me the reasons why you were so negative about our performance just as I laid out the reasons why I was more positive. I'd be genuinely interested to see in a bit more detail how you saw the game and why you were so disappointed. |
We won, by Grace of god or whatever, we won. But for Adamsons leg? Or other body parts we would have been 2-1 down Their first goal was diabolical defending. Thought we were not so fluent going forwards but it is what it is. We can only play with what we have. But my comment was just an after fulltime frustration comment which we all do and say, and its been put out of context. You will hear the same vibe in the next day or so.And my comment on IC, will probaly be true, but even if it isn't, why all the downvotes? It's just and opinion. Look, I can't be arsed trying to defend myself after 20 years on here just because someone thinks my wording is wrong. I'm done.

Your stats pretty much show how poor we were in the final third. We have been/can be much better. Why no Kolli? Only seen nearly every game for the last 50 plus years. What do I know? |
I haven't seen you post much wrong, Cheesey. Opinions after a game will always differ, and if we were all down the pub we would all have different views and no-one would we be too bothered. If we were sharing a pint today, I'd be more up than you. The next day you might be more up than me.

Let's face it, we have played much much better this season. If you want to disect my words, you crack on. Am I happy we won? Of course, but I'm not gonna say evetything is great when it's obviously not. |
Remember Preston where the draw seemed like a win to quite a few here? Does this win seem like a loss? Asking for a friend

| Match Thread: will QPR show NEW METTLE or will LINCOLN PARK the bus? on 23:25 - Nov 7 with 0 views | Bluce_Ree | Fk yes, Supers. Thoughts. My last match was the dismal 4-1 defeat to Ipswich where we were irredeemably awful. This was a whole different QPR. First 20 mins: QPR playing with real swagger. Great passing. Lots of confidence. The rest of the half a bit muted but we were still the better side. Edwards I really liked. Poku I wasn't sure about. His final ball was often poor. I see why everyone goes on about the keeper's distribution. Amazing. Chair changed the game when he came on. We were vastly better than them. | |

It's an economic saying but when we do well, our boats rise, then a bad performance or two and we're complaining again. That's life, I guess. Life ? Don't talk to me about life. | Match Thread: will QPR show NEW METTLE or will LINCOLN PARK the bus? on 23:58 - Nov 7 with 0 views | baz_qpr | Look this was a tough game but we are a different level to them and what we were just a couple of years ago. Kamara just a different level our left backs both of them better than we have had for years. Ronnie oozing class in his dinner suit like he is the next James Bond. We have a few problem positions and that cameo from Obikwu was one to forget but that's what £1m striker is these days. Gotta be hugely positive going into the international break, and we have Madsen and Burrell to come back and Chair is not even at full fitness and has delivered 2 assists in 60 mins.

| Match Thread: will QPR show NEW METTLE or will LINCOLN PARK the bus? on 17:30 - Nov 7 by rbee | I don't think so. We played some lovely football earlier in the season with plenty of attacking intent. The past week as a team we simply haven't been at it, I have no idea why. Thankfully we carried on fighting, trying to play our football and won four points. I am confident that our form will improve in the near future. |
I’d say there’s a combination of things. We’re missing arguably our best players: Madsen and Burrell (and Lamptey but we haven’t seen enough of him in practice to include him as of right), and certainly two of our players that are theoretically best at unlocking teams that sit back. Across the season teams learn your strengths and try to nullify them. We’ve played two teams who are in trouble and are focusing on not losing. We’re also missing JCS who is a great option for being able to change it up by putting Ronnie in minefield. We’re missing the pace of Mbengue and Burrell so it’s easier for teams to break quickly out of defence because Amadou has a proven ability to use his pace to get us out of trouble and Burrell’s pace makes teams think twice about breaking too often and losing the ball back. We’re playing with a team that’s had to play more football than usual (i.e. not being able to sub them off) because of injuries to other players: Smyth, Adamson, Kemper, Kamara have not been able to be swapped out on days where they haven’t been at their best. Every team has bad spells but what we’ve been able to do so far this season unlike other ones is for them to turn into long runs of losses. I’ve been impressed how we’ve bounced back after losses to Birmingham and Southampton at least in terms of grinding out some kind of performance and not losing again. We’ve been playing a combination of teams at their absolute best on the day - Southampton and Birmingham both were - and teams that dig in that we’ve always struggled against in Burnley and Lincoln and managed to get four points. Be interesting to see how we do against Millwall. I fear they will profit from the international break to get their act together after their own personal slump recently. Also they’ll be motivated to beat us as there always seems to be a bit of needle there. Also Norwich who annoyingly are starting to play well just as we’re due to play them. I’m curious how we do against teams like Cardiff and Wrexham who are mid table which we haven’t had much of recently. None of this is to rip apart your post Rbee which wasn’t unduly negative. It just prompted me to look at some of the reasons.

I think it's writing "we won, but what's to celebrate". Which is weird. You celebrate wins. You celebrate goals - certainly winning late goals as well crafted and taken as Kamara's. Sometimes, you celebrate draws. League football is about winning points. We won three yesterday, against an obdurate team with a late winner in front of a full house. We go into the international break in the play-offs. Amazing. Nobody left the ground complaining. We left singing. This is football. You celebrate wins. It's not a meal, album or film. It doesn't need a review. You take the points or your medicine. Then on to the next.

Yeah, although there is nothing wrong at all in my opinion with Cheesey's take, as we are all looking for signs how the long-run will pan out, and I agree that we were pretty ordinary and players like Vale are becoming very disappointing. However - we're QPR. A winning goal late on, down the Loft end. Celebrated with more vigour and fun then any of those miserable gloryhunter Arsenal fans you bump into on the Central Line would ever understand. A full-on post match celebration for beating Lincoln at home. Love it. If we don't enjoy these moments as Rangers fans, well....there probably ain't gonna be a lot else. But I do get your points Cheesey...and you are very much entitled to them.

Disagree about Vale. Not just with you, but seemingly with everyone. He's younger than Adamson and Lloyd, who are both given much, much more leeway and goodwill to perform in very defined roles (Adamson) or chaotic cameos (Lloyd). Young, technical players asked to perform in 8/10 roles in the Championship often go through bad spells in their first full season. Ask Madsen. I see that, rather than Jordan Mutch. He's 23. Playing a very difficult position, winning more than he loses (and scoring). Get him playing regularly with Madsen and Chair, rather than Varane and Smyth. I feel sure he'll have a better career at a higher level than almost all the other 23 year-olds in the squad - Ronnie Edwards the exception!, obviously,

Couldn't agree more about Charles. Near the end, he caught a cross, possibly a corner, ran to the edge of his area and delivered the most incredible and accurate pass to Poku deep in the Lincoln half . It was my first real chance to watch Kamara after reading so much about him. Wow, what class. He appears to be so light on his feet, almost on his tiptoes. Great first touch, already knows what he's going to do with the ball. Finished off with a fabulous goal, great first touch and curled it past the keeper. With top players hopefully being able to return after the international break and sitting in 8th place, what is there not to love about our team. Come on my suuuupa hoooopsaaaaaaa

Interesting thoughts. Vale clearly has a bunch of haters. I don't think he's played well recently, but obviously has skill and has scored a couple of lovely goals for us. But it's not coming together yet, IMHO. But Stephan seems to rate him and he's virtually ever present. I have faith in Julien's judgement even though I'm a bit sceptical.
