Match Thread: will QPR show NEW METTLE or will LINCOLN PARK the bus? 23:34 - Nov 5 with 24715 viewsBluce_Ree

Gosh, that was a tortured title. I never liked Linkin Park either. But what I can tell you is that I'm doing the thread because this will be my first in-person match of the season. Tooting Park Run, QPR v Lincoln and then Rocket From The Crypt at the Electric Ballroom. That's a packed Saturday.

I'm going for 3-0 to the Rs. Because f**k Lincoln, right?

I'm prepared to delete this bullshit if Spaceman comes back to duty.

Come on you SUPERS.

Stefan Moore, Stefan Moore running down the wing. Stefan Moore, Stefan Moore running down the wing. He runs like a cheetah, his crosses couldn't be sweeter. Stefan Moore. Stefan Moore. Stefan Moore.

Genuine question: is Poku left-footed? He's always looking to cut inside rather than go outside his man.

No axe to grind - just wondered if he might be an option on the left.

'What do we want? We don't know! When do we want it? Now!'

A scrappy 2-1 at home against Lincoln. Not sure whats to celebrate. I thought we were generally poor. Edwards used to run with the ball cutting into their half, this season he stops on the half way line although there is an acre of space infront, same with JD, he 's stopped doing the same. Is this a masterplan?

Technology advances, unfortunately humans do not.

Unpredictably, he’s got us to 8th at this stage of the season.

Is Obikwu actually a footballer, or have we been caught up in one of those Nigerian phone scams?

Cirkin, I like him a lot. He just knows where to be, when to foul & how to sh*t house about.

Tough watch today, we got there - BUT, I am not and have never been a fan of JS, I doubt I ever will be. Being led by the nose by the Medical science team on Subs etc.,

The pairing of Varane and Kamara is a bloody joke, as is the constant selection of Vale.

Onwards and upwards.

Obikwu is a footballer who hasn't played any football for nearly a year so in that respect he will receive plenty of slack from me.

Any pairing in the midfield has caused us some problems the past two seasons, at times we are simply too light in centre mid.

Pleased to see some positive comments for Varane. When a player is under the spotlight any mistakes are highlighted in dayglo pink and much of the good work goes unnoticed.

Vale is in bad form but because he is fit and available he gets a game.

On the way home.

God, that was a difficult watch, Lincoln reminded me of Rotherham a couple of years ago. Big, strong, aggressive and physical. Horrible to watch.

We were disjointed. Varane technically unable to play in this team, but needs must. Madsen can't return soon enough.
JS got the subs spot on and the strength of the bench won it.

We'd have lost that a couple of years ago.

Poll: How is Nourry cooking so far ? 🤣

Quite why people expect Obikwu to be up to speed after being out for so long is beyond me. He might be physically fit but I’m sure as hell he’s not match fit…if you get my meaning.

Mainly because Varane is playing statues right in front of them.

It's being so happy that keeps me going.

Does Stephan play it too safe too often??

I don't think so. We played some lovely football earlier in the season with plenty of attacking intent.

The past week as a team we simply haven't been at it, I have no idea why. Thankfully we carried on fighting, trying to play our football and won four points.

I am confident that our form will improve in the near future.

Very harsh and strange way of looking at it. Read Clive's preview - Lincoln are a very well run club and have been quite solid away from home this season, with three away wins and a draw to Millwall. You shouldn't expect to roll over anyone in this league, so a win should be celebrated no matter what.

Did we perform our best? No. But that's now a 4-1 win against Derby, 5-0 win against Swansea, 1-1 draw with Burnley and 2-1 win against Lincoln in our last four home games.

Top 8 having played 6 of the top 10 (excluding ourselves).

Let's enjoy the two weeks of that I say!

Decent three points there. I think Varane played his best game this season. Chuffed Kamara got off the mark too.

Good result.

Funny how different I saw it. He did a few really nice things but I thought was at fault for their goal, almost gave away a second and missed a sitter.

Only one team out there wanted to play football and fortunately that team won. A victory for football. Thought they stuck at it and tried to play football. Winning goal was testament to the patience they showed against a very stubborn opponent.

The championship is a horrible league to play in, it is physical, relentless and never- ending. I think we all know there are going to be games like today where its a horrible, physical scrap! QPR have lost/drawn loads of those games, going back years! Today we won, let's celebrate!

It’s crazy how we have gone into a season with essentially 3 centre mids and 1 has been injured for a good while now. Varane just never seems comfortable on the ball although he does some positive things in games. He was at fault for their goal giving the ball away. We really need Madsen back. We we would be screwed if Kamara gets injured. Great finish from Kamara. Be good going into Millwall to have Burrell, Madsen and Lamptey all back.

No idea why?

We’ve been missing JCS (which allows Ronnie to move into midfield), Madsen, Chair and Burrell.

Smyth, Poku and Saito blow hot and cold and can’t maintain any sort of consistency.

With all those missing back after the break, Lampty too possibly, we should see an uplift in the quality of performance.

Delighted to have got back into a play off spot considering the obvious lack of quality with the recent line ups. Southampton and Wet Spam losing today helped considerably mind you.

Think Clive said that we are running Kamara into the ground at the moment - Very true that we need Madsen back and we need to be able to move Ronnie back into DCM he plays better there IMO

If we can’t celebrate a win that takes us into the playoff places I can’t see the point of following a team at all.

No, I have no idea why. Even with these players missing we have turned in some better performances than we have seen this week with Swansea being the prime example of course.

Can't agree with you on Smyth. Poku is only now playing regularly. Saito along with Vale will hopefully rediscover some form.

It will of course be brilliant to get our injured players back. This league is very inconsistent results wise and we really have a great chance of staying in a playoff spot. Injuries and consistency hopefully won't hinder our progress so much for the rest of the season.

Ya, I think he is, Dorse.

Very.

But Stéphan likes inverted wingers, so he's on the right.

you don't have to be fit to play a simple 3 yard pass mate.
Abominable.
Hopefully better to come.

Bare bones.
