But what I can tell you is that I'm doing the thread because this will be my first in-person match of the season. Tooting Park Run, QPR v Lincoln and then Rocket From The Crypt at the Electric Ballroom. That's a packed Saturday. I'm going for 3-0 to the Rs. Because f**k Lincoln, right? I'm prepared to delete this bullshit if Spaceman comes back to duty. Come on you SUPERS.

| Match Thread: will QPR show NEW METTLE or will LINCOLN PARK the bus? on 18:10 - Nov 7 with 0 views | Beckenhamhoop | I’d like to see JS show a bit more faith in Alemeyhu. I know Varane is better without the ball and can, at times, use his physicality and height to disrupt and intercept but IA has shown how good he can be on the ball. I think IA and Kamara may be quite similar in style and I’m not saying he should play 90 minutes but, circumstances depending, he needs to be exposed to the Championship a bit more. Game model and all that. [Post edited 7 Nov 18:13]

| Match Thread: will QPR show NEW METTLE or will LINCOLN PARK the bus? on 17:40 - Nov 7 by HammersmithR | It’s crazy how we have gone into a season with essentially 3 centre mids and 1 has been injured for a good while now. Varane just never seems comfortable on the ball although he does some positive things in games. He was at fault for their goal giving the ball away. We really need Madsen back. We we would be screwed if Kamara gets injured. Great finish from Kamara. Be good going into Millwall to have Burrell, Madsen and Lamptey all back. |
Indeed. Maybe we spent two players worth of wages on Kamara? That CM pairing wasn't what you'd want for that fixture - far too much passing backwards of square in that first half - so overall I'm very happy to get out of there with 3 points.

Brilliant technique from Kamara and great disguise in pass from Chair. Instant kill with his right and immediate left-footed shot that veered away from the keeper. That goal comes about because of Kamara's ability to use both feet, without any hesitation, in such close quarters. Two quality players on the same wavelength. Great to see. [Post edited 7 Nov 18:23]

Chair really helped up the level and a lovely finish by Kamara. Edwards is class, Jimmy is the new Macca, and I do enjoy our double left back options. Especially Man Kemper having a go at their No.33 At the start I thought Varane had the best 25 mins I’d seen him but then he was culpable for losing the ball for their goal and then missed a great chance Hugill style. He’s a real mixed bag for me. Obikwu with an interesting appearance. Kone started brightly and a well taken header but faded. But is that the second international break and we’re still in the playoffs. It could be worse!! U Rs!!

This is my problem still celebrating at 5.30am - going to get grief later this morning. I love QPR so much even though 16,839 kms away think about the club every day. I love QPR so much as I am sure you all do too. Best fans and club in the whole world. Arsenal struggled to beat Hull 1-0 today Man City losing to Notts Forest 2-0 at half time Beating teams is not easy as we think Great to see Kone bang 5 in recently and Kamara to chance his arm and score today. no, your view was that we were poor and that the win wasn't worth celebrating. That's what they objected to. Don't try and back off saying 'i thought it was below par' and make yourself look reasonable after the fact from what was objectively a weird post.

| Match Thread: will QPR show NEW METTLE or will LINCOLN PARK the bus? on 17:40 - Nov 7 by easthertsr | The championship is a horrible league to play in, it is physical, relentless and never- ending. I think we all know there are going to be games like today where its a horrible, physical scrap! QPR have lost/drawn loads of those games, going back years! Today we won, let's celebrate! |
Yes. When West Ham lost to Blackburn, Southampton to frigging Preston (can you imagine the uproar? ) and Bristol City 5-0 at home to Norwich, us beating Lincoln at home seems a pretty tame thing to be upset about. We didn’t play particularly well although we had our moments but we have some definite quality in our team with Kamara, Ronnie, The Boy, Dunne and others. We also have other players who can be game changers like Smyth, Poku and Kone. We’ve got players getting back to their best like Chair and Cirkin. And we’ve got serious quality in the medical suite like Madsen, Burrell and Lamptey. Since we’re back in the playoffs and on my calibration therefore slightly punching above our weight we should be pretty happy.

Okay, without the insults, the reasons why I disagree with your negative take on today: 69% possession and a win! First 30 minutes and last 30 minutes we were much the better team. 21 shots, admittedly only four on target First goal for Kamara More minutes and a positive performance from Chair Charles did well against their team of giants as did the back four in general We're 8th in the table Lincoln were a tougher opponent than Burnley and we beat them. We finished the game with 11 on the pitch and seemingly no injuries Kone scored again (great assist and super header) We go into the international break with 3 wins, 2 draws and 2 losses from a run of games most of us thought was a very tough run. I was miserable after Burnley. Very happy with the three points today.

What I wrote, was what you will hear after a game. Its reactional comments. Let's face it, we have played much much better this season. If you want to disect my words, you crack on. Am I happy we won? Of course, but I'm not gonna say evetything is great when it's obviously not.

| Match Thread: will QPR show NEW METTLE or will LINCOLN PARK the bus? on 18:56 - Nov 7 with 0 views | superhoopaus | Still buzzing about the three points and being back in the play-off places. Kamara’s finish was excellent, Chair made a difference when he came on, and Kone continues to deliver. It was a grind against a physical side and we got the job done – I’ll take that all day. That said, I still think Ben Williams and the performance/medical setup are holding us back. His background is cycling (INEOS) and other sports, not football, and the recurring soft tissue and availability problems keep surfacing under different managers. We saw the improvement when he was fully on site in 23/24, then the issues returned when he went part-time. He’s back full-time now with a bigger role, yet the injury list is still biting (Mbengue, Madsen, Burrell, Lamptey and others).Christian – please take note and sort this out. Move on the people who are incompetent or only know cycling if that’s what it takes. We have a real chance this season with Stéphan and this group. Don’t let the same fitness problems cap what we can achieve again. If we make the play-offs I’ll be delighted. Just need the squad available more consistently to give ourselves the best chance U R's [Post edited 7 Nov 18:57]

| Match Thread: will QPR show NEW METTLE or will LINCOLN PARK the bus? on 17:26 - Nov 7 by Wilkinswatercarrier | On the way home. God, that was a difficult watch, Lincoln reminded me of Rotherham a couple of years ago. Big, strong, aggressive and physical. Horrible to watch. We were disjointed. Varane technically unable to play in this team, but needs must. Madsen can't return soon enough. JS got the subs spot on and the strength of the bench won it. We'd have lost that a couple of years ago. |
Agree about Lincoln being a horrible watch. But the preview said that's what they are And given their budget, its the way they have to be. Frustrating game where we had the possession and the attempts but struggled to convert all the chances. Familiar pattern?

Deserved to draw??? 69% possession, 21 attempts, more passes, more key passes. Being level until 80th minute flattered Lincoln.

Look, I can see I'm being downvoted in everything i say, so can't be arsed with this. Your stats pretty much show how poor we were in the final third. We have been/can be much better. Why no Kolli? Only seen nearly every game for the last 50 plus years. What do I know?

I'll explain why I downvoted: This: Not sure whats to celebrate. Other than that I agree it was a disappointing performance. But JD was forward on several occasions HOWEVER, I said earlier, we have no right to expect to steamroller these teams just by turning up. All the best teams have to grind like we did today without the pretty football we have seen this season. I am positive however about where we are at given our current resources. But that statement 'not sure whats to celebrate' is wrong for me. I celebrate all wins. You said earlier you were happy we won, then celebrate

Agreed. It was a better performance than Burnley. I was very disappointed with that game as Burnley were very much there for the taking. Lincoln put up much more of a fight.
