You'd only accept it unless you have a replacement lined up! Think what you like about Dykes but we barely have any experienced strikers as it is.

Surely we would have a list of strikers that we have scouted and x y z contingency plans if not then again have to look at the way the club is being run Dykes is a terrible player so unless we think we can get more it's a ridiculous decision to reject 3 million unless of course its all bollocks 🤔 | | | | Login to get fewer ads

They probably do, but if the options are the same or better than Dykes, then the club they are at will want the same amount of money or more for him. Depending on the offer from Millwall, we may only get a small amount of that 3m up front so still wouldn't have a lot to spend.

| Millwall Dykes bid supposedly rejected on 09:30 - Jan 20 with 7179 views | Northernr | Milwall spent reasonably big in the summer, £1.6m for the Dutch lad. Be very surprised if they had £3m to spend in January too. | | | |
| Millwall Dykes bid supposedly rejected on 09:32 - Jan 20 with 7163 views | BAWHoops | £3m after add ons according to WLS https://www.westlondonsport.com/qpr/qpr-reject-offer-from-millwall-for-dykes?utm Think we paid close to £2m for him so whilst it would be a profit it's not a fantastic return. Once they are over £4m we need to seriously consider it. We aren't going up, probably aren't going down and need the money to refresh the side. Have to assume Dieng and Chair will be off in the summer as well, hopefully we can get around £10m combined for them plus £4m for Dykes gives us a nice bit of cash to rebuild. Lets not forget that the Eze money built a promotion capeable side.... they just timed it wrong and went for a calendar year instead of a season!! | |

Very skeptical of how much of that £3m is guaranteed, but i would be very very inclined to sell him if we get any decent money for him we have an FFP gap to fill, and this will partially help fill it... we're not going up or down and we have lowe, so we are basically well situated to at least stay up... keeping dykes wont have a material impact on our final position anyone whose read the commentary on last weeks match and the impact lowe had will immediately see how much dykes cripples our attack. he is the single reason our attack is so flaccid, and it has nothing to do with his mediocre to below average goal scoring record -he cant run behind a defense, which exacerbates our sideways/no tempo passing issue... when we play lowe, we will see how his runnign behind and into channels creates space for willock and chair to operate, thereby creating some tempo and forward thrust into our play -he cant run at defenders with the ball.. not essential for a striker and not a skill many have in this division, but again limits us going forward and shrinks the pitch for us.... see what a difference the luton striker made by being able to run at our backline -his skill set is aerial duels, but in basically 1 in 2 matches, the center back will have him in his pocket.... he vacillates b/w these performances, so we get the predictable "best game for rangers" comment after a random match where he wins a few headers. but totally invisible in the other half -hes not a technical player so cant link up with the likes of chair willock and roberts in the final third... and finally, his goal scoring record is totally average... 1 in 4 (of which many are pens) and blows hot and cold, so we have to regularly endure 7 or 8 matches without a goal we are very quick to sack managers and pay all the associated costs... so why not get rid of dykes, who Im sketpcial will improve much at this stage.... take the money and reinvest next season

In defence of Dykes... He does often go to run behind, especially in the first 30 mins. But nobody ever releases him and he does tend to give up on it. I don't think Willock and Chair trust him. They play by themselves, or with Paal, Laird etc. But they don't play with him. They'll choose other passes, they won't do one-twos with him, they won't put him through. He's not the focal point of our attack even though he's the focal point of our attack, if you know what I mean. He's not integrated with the rest of our team's play. I'd love to see the stats of how many passes he receives from Willock and Chair and how that compares to other players. The number of times they ignore him is starting to grate actually - even as I've loved watching them play. I think he might do very well somewhere with a team that trusts him. He's trying. When he's happy he's a handful. He's shown he can score every kind of goal. He's a good age and physique. But currently he doesn't suit us / we don't suit him.

I agree | | | |
| Millwall Dykes bid supposedly rejected on 10:42 - Jan 20 with 6447 views | R_from_afar | Even if we reinvested the full £3m in a replacement, which seems unlikely given our FFP position, we would struggle to get much for our money, it would probably be a hopeful punt on someone from a lower level. £3m is nothing when it comes to Championship standard and if we try to buy now, we will be trying to get someone at the most expensive time of year. In any case, Critchley has been onboard for all of 40 days. Shouldn't we be waiting to see what he can achieve with Lyndon? Dykes enables us to play out and get the ball up the pitch and also helps out defensively. I want him to improve, his finishing is not good enough, but... that goes for the whole team, we are not clinical enough as a team. What was that stat, we were the second or third worst in the division for finishing. | |

Was a very good target man at Burnley, can't pretend I know much about him though Wages likely to be a big problem if any truth in it
