Watching through highlights from recent games this kid is a real baller. Got to be knocking on the first team door soon surely?

Never knowingly right.

I've thought the same but in another thread his slight physique has been called into question. In other words, he's thought of by some as too lightweight to be able to make the step up.

Needs to be given a chance at some point though. Many would have said that Chair was too small to make it but he is a bit more stocky

I'm not as sure on the lightweight thing, I'm sure it used to be the case that academies used to release the smallest lads but not sure thats appropriate anymore. Otherwise how do you get an Ilias Chair or indeed a Lionel Messi. In the position he plays, he doesn't need to be Lyndon Dykes certainly. Either way, Ainsworth was there to watch 90 minutes of him midweek and saw him score so I guess its up to him now if he sees something he likes

Yes, but not when he started out. I think young Ilias was prescribed a deal of gym work to get him to his current physique.

He probably needs it but there's no doubt he has immense potential. Double footed and really quick feet.

I really rate Pedder. He is very tidy, skillful and reasonably paced as well. I am guessing there is still a lot of coaching going on with him, so looks like we are handling his progress carefully. Very much hope that he’ll get some senior appearances before too long, either from the bench or on loan as I think he has something about him.

Never knowingly understood

Use him or lose him. 21 in a couple of weeks, not a teenager. Scores all the time at B Team level and looks great but everybody I know who's seen him says he's way too lightweight and at his level. We're missing an entire first team at the moment so either involve him now, involve him soon, or shake hands. Let him not become another 26 year old still here five loans at chuffing Maidenhead down the line.

This is your new bug bear isn't it Clive. The amount of 'cheap' players we have knocking around who are neither that cheap or good enough.
Pretty much got a team of them now

Archer, Kakay, Masterson, Gubbins, Nico, Owens, Dixon-Bonner, Alfa, Shodipo

Maybe, Gareth will agree and he will make the bench on Saturday. Now would seem like a good time with Chair and Willock missing or making their way back.

Difficult having too many smaller players in a team in the championship though, an enhanced weights regime this close season to build up his strength may help.

Paul Goddard was lightweight, just saying.

It's being so happy that keeps me going.

I can't recall Lee Cook having much weight on him. Not that I'm comparing the two players ability!

Never mind his physique, if he can create, that will do for me.

Who the hell was that up front who missed an absolute sitter?!?!

We actually DO have a ready made replacement for Lyndon at the club. Get him in the team Saturday

Bottom line, we need someone with a name like Rafferty Pedder. Other teams won't like it. He sounds like a man with flair. That's proper QPR. Is there any logic to this? No.

By the way, his contract expires in June, with a one year option to extend.

Yes but Goddard was ex-military - the Ealing Boy’s Brigade.

I just could not believe the numbers of people on those accounts last week, and the return we're getting from them. 190 fcking people, one win in 19 matches.

Exactly if we're in the deep brown stuff financially which we are then severe cost cutting needs to happen, we can't keep acting like a Premiership team with keeping players on contract and loaning them out, pretty much anybody over the age of 21/22 who hasn't shown they can break into the first team should be released.
This Summer is inevitably going to be a big cost cutting exercise and some tough decisions will have to be made, let's hope we can do that from a position in the Championship.

From what I've seen, players who are lightweight in u21s football have got little-to-no chance in the men's professional game, as the physical aspect is so much more intense and important. I suspect it's a key reason why we send players out on loan, to see if they sink or swim in this regard.

It's also worth considering that height does not necessarily mean lightweight. Both small and tall players can be lightweight. I've noted the smaller attacking players that make it (Chair, Messi, etc) tend to be more sturdy, and/or are skilled in the art of protecting the ball - with core strength - from opposing players. In other words, they are not easily pushed off the ball and lose possession, despite their height disadvantage.

The argument may be that there are 190 fcking people but only enough body parts that work between them to make about 12 players.

Never knowingly right.

Saw him score an absolutely unreal goal in a friendly at Hampton straight after lockdown. Genuine Clive Allen stuff, double drag back around two players and finish into the far corner. I got an erection immediately.

Sadly, it would seem this was a dog having a day.

He's had a bad injury this season which obviously impacted first team chances/loan opportunities, but before that he had 4g in 6 starts, and 6gs in 7 starts last season. Issue again is that he's 21 which is pretty old for U21s football.

Sounds like an Oakland A already.
