Dykes v England 22:21 - Jun 6 with 11570 viewsnumptydumpty

If lyndon dykes scores against England maybe a fortunate hatrick in a one off game

Stranger things have happened, Dennis Bailey v man utd away 1992 hatrick and really bang average player

So dykes removes England from their glorious euro destiny...

Every away ground next season is he likely get the boo boys on his every move and what effect will it have on his game next season

I convinced myself this is the future reality we face

My nights are sleepless

Don't do it Lyndon. You know it makes sense !!!!!! 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣

Should have scored. I did rather fear this level might be a bit much for him. Do we think they'll maybe go with Adams rather than Dykes for England now?

Kind words Norf....very kind ' a bit much'!!!

Scotland must be very poor if Dykes is a regular for them.

I can't see Dykes playing against England he'd be so out of his depth.

He's playing for a Championship team, chance he may imrove some to get lower Prem clubs interested, for his level at the moment he's done well to be playing for the Scotland starting X!, maybe a couple of more than half chances not taken today but he's got a great tutor in CA hope he takes advantage, then we may see.

On a couple of occasions Dykes was caught flat footed and stationary when decent balls came in the box.

Difficult for him today with Clarke only playing 1 up top but Dykes does lack a natural instinct and or experience to anticipate when and where the ball is coming in.

I think look where he was 2 years ago to where he is now and he has started to develop well towards achieving the potential he has. Maybe a tournament too early for him, but another year playing with Austin could be really accelerate his progress.

Never knowingly understood

I thought Dykes did ok but should have scored

As for Scotland they really are a boring side to watch, not seen one player with any flair or skill.

If we score early on Friday hopefully we can smash them

Dykes needs Austin to find Scottish heritage.

Never knowingly right.

I'm really not seeing this with Dykes, as much as I was really willing him on for Scotland. Chaz isn't good enough for a lower prem side any more and Dykes still has some improving to do to reach his level. If he wasn't a QPR player we'd be laughing out of hand the notion that a prem club would want to sign him.

Dykes was poor and looked like the player he was the most of last season.
I recall we were after kieffer moore before signing dykes and compared to how moore played for wales and how dykes played for scots...
Both have come from lower leagues and moore has couple of years more experience but clearly much much better at the moment.

Thought he was ok today did some nice stuff in build up play still looks quite raw in terms of where and when to make runs. A more clinical finisher probably would've scored the one the keeper saved with his foot but then Scotland's best player Robertson should've just rolled the ball past the keeper when he went through.
Dykes still looked more likely to score than Kane did v Croatia for forwards most of the time it's about the service.
Great finish by Shick but if Marshall is an International keeper nowadays might be time for Safe Hands to get his gloves back out

Except I don't think his hold-up play is particularly good ... yet. Certainly not at international level.

He and Adams show a good understanding and Clarke must be tempted to start them both against England.

I thought Dykes did pretty well, won about everything in the air, and gave the Czeck defence a lot of problems. If he'd managed to convert one or two of those at a stretch chances we'd be getting Clubs looking to take him for next season, so just as well he didn't. Will be surprised if he doesn't start against England.

Maybe they should draft charlie into the squad to show him where the goal is?

I thought he was fine today, was a close game. If Robertson scores that pretty easy chance at 0-0 they'd have grown in confidence

I can’t see Clarke being too adventurous on Friday. He’ll think he’ll have defend deep so I can see Lyndon being left up on his own to try and win free kicks they can attack in the box, like 2004 Greece. I imagine he’ll have a long 75 minutes chasing 20:80 balls.

I thought it was Dykes B. C.

It's being so happy that keeps me going.

Having watched the highlights I think Dykes did pretty well. The stubbed effort we heard about wasn't as stubbed as they say and it was an excellent save. Plus his presence and physicality seemed to cause a lot of problems.

Never knowingly right.

Scotland have way bigger problems than Dykes. Like a defence that can tackle and cover headers in the box. More creativity and assertiveness from someone besides Robertson in midfield wouldn't be amiss either.

Schick's looked good whenever I've seen him, with both Leipzig and Leverkusen. He's deceptive because he looks heavy and immobile, kinda like Matty Smith, but he's got great vision (as we saw today) and a willingness to move into open areas where most strikers aren't confident enough to go. Comparing Dykes with him simply isn't fair.

I watched the game in a pub at London Bridge with loads of Scotland fans.
Thought Lyndon did Ok, and not sure Che Adams did anything after he came on so would expect our man to play in the next game.

McGinn handballed it before it got to Dykes. VAR may have chalked it off anyway.

Not under 21/22 laws, which they are using now. Full details on the "Euros" thread I started, but essentially accidental handball by attacking side IS allowed again, as long as the person doing the handling doesn't score.

Ya, I thought they were ok too.

Marshall had to make 3 or 4 saves in the end.

Can't see either of these two getting anything from Croatia or England.
