Can someone explain this induction process to this?
Is it anybody who has kicked a ball for us?
Tomorrow apparently it’s Anton Ferdinand, nice lad , only played 40 games, probably best remembered for the JT incident?

The sending offs were two of the most obvious you will ever see.

Sean Derry himself said 'something strange' happened to Chelsea that day, and he was amazed, as you say because of the vast experience of the Chelsea team that day.

They didn't have a goal disallowed or anything like that, lost their heads, lost the match, but 'unlucky'? - Nope they absolutely were NOT!

Quite right. They totally lost it. That game was the beginning of the end for AVB.

Yeah I'll get into that now, Weggers, absolutely. Send me another PM and I'll sort you out a research assistant. You make a lot of good points. You must have one in hand that says we were outclassed though? Cough that up.

Weggers? You were so responsive before. Where's this tale of us being outclassed? You of all people would have carefully maintained it I feel.

Worth watching just for the look of absolute joy on his kids faces. He says some very nice things too.

I missed this on Saturday and I'm so pleased to watch it now. It makes me proud of my club that Anton felt supported by us during a very dark time in his life. He may not have been the best player we've ever had, but he's a very decent man, and I really appreciate all he said.

Lovely.

Thanks Lanhoop.

This is exactly what the Forever R's is for; support. I only wish that Ron Hunt had been well enough to make the trip to W12 before his passing. If it wasn't for his tackle at Wembley who knows whether we would have a League Cup in our trophy cabinet. RIP Ron.

The mantra is that Chelsea were petrified... I'm in the minority who are willing and able to acknowledge what really happened.

To be fair Mata bottled out of taking a corner, they should have had 3 sent off as the ref bottled it and blew for full time when Cole should have picked up his second yellow.
Half the Chelsea side didn’t even realise it was a Derby, some looked visibly shocked when they got off the coach.

That's fantastic. From where I sit I couldn't see the looks on their faces (or hear much of what AF had to say), but what better way to look after the club's future than make ex-players feel welcome and bring such obvious joy to their kids?

Keeps the connection between the ex player/manager and the Club. There's no downside to this imo. Great PR for the club to do this (whoever the player), good for the fans to show their appreciation (if they never got the chance to before) and also listen to what they have to say about the club, good for the player to be able thank the fans, talk about there time at QPR etc... and good for the families. All very positive. It's a win win all round as far as I'm concerned.

There were quotes in the press during the following days from Eto & Bosingwa that it had been the most frightening and intimidating atmosphere that they had ever encountered. Galatasary who?

Don't think Eto'o was at Chelsea at that time.

Anyway, what a lovely video - thanks for posting lanhoop. Top class speech and you can tell what the club/supporters mean to him despite his relatively short time here.

Just watched it, brilliant video, tear in my eye.

The joy on his kids faces, Andy Sinton looking after them when their Daddy was interviewed, Paul Morrissey’s delicate and professional questions. If you have something negative to say after seeing that, it says more about too then anything else.

Well done Anton Ferdinand.

Well done QPR.

I just watched the video and I have to admit that I called this one wrong. Anton looked genuinely grateful for the support that he received at the time, support that clearly helped him navigate a tough period in his life. Exceptional circumstances that in itself warrants a spot in Forever Rs.

That's right; none of you know so stop trying to fill the gaps with illusions of suffering and pain. He's had a great life and his family are just fine. In private I doubt he thinks twice about the JT incident. Only QPR fans make a mountain out of that molehill because it was Chelsea and JT. Chelsea have long stopped considering QPR as rivals so move on.

Hang on Connell, I didn't agree with that either, but a few posts up from you Benny has done an about-turn since then, which is quite a brave thing to do in the world of Internet forums. He doesn't really need to be dug out for things he said before he changed his mind.

Well done Benny, that is a brave post to make. We very often agree on footballing issues & are now in agreement about this!

It might make it easier to supporters if Forever R's was renamed the Ex Queens Park Rangers Players Association. Then we can avoid all of the "is he worth" membership.

The Ipswich Town equivalent is open to all ex players, even to those who were only apprentice professionals. Players are invited to join automatically, rather than have an induction on the pitch.
