Desperate for some of these. Can people post all the links etc they come across? I'd take clickbait, I don't care, I just want some excitement to go with Ian's arrival.

More blood.

Thanks.

Gary Micklewhite is perhaps the only successful transfer that came here from Man Utd.

Agreed and to a lesser extent maybe David McCreery.

It was £600k rising to £1m after a season long loan the previous season.

Pretty minimal outlay for a player who then instantly won us promotion.

Yes I forgot about David McCreery.

How much did we pay for Taarabt from Spurs/Levy?

Don’t remember it being much and he’s probably our most important and influential signing of the past 20+ years.

Alright... apart the roads, viaducts and orgies... what has Levy ever given us?! hmmmm? Hey?!

Cherish and enjoy life.... this ain't no dress rehearsal

Didn't do too bad on Crouch either. Bought him for £60k and sold him for £1.5m.

Ethan Laird from Man Utd is doing the rounds as the Prem right back we have dibs on.

Preston fans are pretty upset because they rate him highly.

Sky sports reporting Ethan Laird is almost done. Also pointed out a year left on his contract with a further 12 months option to extend.

Might be a small possibility of a future permanent signing….

Absolute steal when you consider how much the club made after promotion to the Premiership. Shame it was all squandered!

The boy Laird should be announced any minute shirley?

Friday afternoon seems to have been the slot for these I think/believe.

Marc Bircham seems to be coaching at Como, they've just signed Cesc Fabregas. Great player for Cesc to learn from

Back to Ireland for Bircham?

Encouraging reference to Laird here (assuming we get him):

Seems to be a fair few teams looking for RWBs this season.

Alex Mowatt going to Middlesbrough on season long loan from WBA. Strong signing.

More exciting than Sterling short term although doubt he'd be available for a permanent deal. Was very good at Swansea before being poached by Bournemouth in Jan and hardly playing.

Be good to get this over the line.

Laird confirmed.

Laird, Paal, Willock a big upgrade on Kakay, Travelman and Shodipo.

Wouldn't be surprised if Roberts starts tomorrow.

We’re not looking in bad nick if we can get this on the pitch (with Chair as an 8 in Beale’s 433, or as a 10 in a 4231 or 3421)

Willock Dykes Roberts
Chair Field Amos
Paal JCS Dickie Laird
Dieng

With Armstrong, Adomah, Richards, Johansson, Dozzell, Dunne, Kakay to contribute off the bench as required

I would go:
Dieng
Paal, JCS, Dickie, Laird
Field, Richards, Amos
Willock, Roberts, Chair

The signing of Laird really excites me, and his interview was cracking. He now gives an option to go with wing backs if we want to play three at the back and two up top.

Looking at the INs v OUTs, lots of upgrades and increased potential. Squad is thin but we have 16 players who could give anyone in the division a game.

I wouldn’t bring anyone else in now, see how we get on until January with this squad and see what we need to add then if we are in the hunt for the play offs.

I'd like to see us get some cash for Bonne this window then maybe add another striker, I think we're lacking up front still although the emergance of Armstrong might calm that need down until January if no one goes

I am actually now wondering if our lack of strikers might expedite his emergence into the team as a starter/regular.

I think we can all see that Bonne will never make it at QPR and I hope that ego/stubbornness from those upon high are not the reason he is still here.

If Bonne was to go, then I’m still not 100% on bringing someone in as I think Dykes, Roberts, and Armstrong, might be enough for now in the lone striker role the current system adopts.

If we were to go with two up top on a more frequent basis then another striker would be essential. Archer has played nine minutes in games for Villa so I’m still holding out for him.
