Cricket world cup (non QPR) 09:24 - Oct 5 with 21630 viewsGaryBannister86

Can't believe it's 4 years since one of the best sporting days of my life....

Would be great to win it in India, tough ask I feel.

Sad to see such a small crowd for the opener. I know the ground holds 132,000 but that is pathetic. India cricket fans can be so one-eyed sometimes. Why not turn up to see some great players on show?

They are pissing It.

What a pisser.

QPR lose (no surprise)
Toronto Blue Jays already out of the baseball playoffs (not that much of a surprise)
Chicago Bears still toilet
Now England cricket.

Well that went well. What a terrible start, and net run rate taken an absolute hammering. Already on the back foot.

Well done NZ though, they are such a good bunch of competitors. One day we might work out that Woakes, as good as he is in England, is about as good as me once he steps on foreign shores.

If England don’t win it, I really hope New Zealand do.

Englands bowling is way short of the required standard, especially on Indian pitches.
Still, we won it last time which was great! I'd second wanting new Zealand to win it if we don't. I think south africa have got an outside chance, might put my 50 p on them

Now this is how to get yourself run out! Mind you, I can remember being involved in a run out when I was playing: the other batter and I got half way down, ummed and arred for what seemed like an age, then foolishly decided to go for it, with inevitable consequences

It's all kicking off in the S Africa v Sri Lanka match.

S Africa set them a target of - wait for it - 429!

In reply, Sri Lanka are 94-2 off 9.5 overs, with Kusal Mendis having hit 8 sixes in his 35 ball 72, so far. Hope I haven't jinxed it!

2nd England game this morning.... 364/9 .... bit disappointing that after Malan and Root...especially Malan fantastic knock
Too many of the middle order gave their wicket away again
This is no given after some of the scores so far.. squeaky but time if we don't get wickets early

Apart from the top three, brain dead batting again.

Still not convinced by Livingstone

Desperate for Stokes back and a bit of staying power in that middle order. Folded after Malan. Made a good start with the ball though, Topley on fire.

Woakes is doing his normal travel bowling... both games he has been pretty average
Surprised he got a fifth... and as I write this he takes a wicket lol

Really pleased for Topley after all his injuries, was surprised he didn't play the 1st game to be honest. Would like this wrapped up quickly to help the NRR.

When are they going to learn that you pick Woakes for English conditions, like at Lords last summer when he might have swung the game, rather than overseas where he’s cannon fodder.

The 21st century Geoff Arnold or Mike Hendrick.

S Africa v Australia is nicely poised. SA batting first and on 263-4 with 7 overs left.

A surprise as far as the Aussie bowling is concerned: Maxwell bowled his full 10 overs, for only 34, taking 2 wickets, and...he didn't concede a single boundary. His line and length was immaculate.

And a less stupid format.

45 group games, out of which four teams qualify for the semi finals. Which don't start till 15th November!!

Snoozeville.

Whatever happened to Jofra Archer

Bowled brilliant in our Last 50 Over World Cup and held his nerve for the last few balls of the super over decider in 2019.

Seems to have been permanently injured ever since. Does anyone have all the news re this man ??

He was going to be the next big thing but sadly its not worked out at all.
