The continental legal system always seems quite lax in relation to ours. Perhaps there's the basis for some kind of appeal process that could stall the whole thing?

Again, none of us were there, none of us know the context. It's possible it was self defence, or he was worried for the safety of someone else. Not excusing him, but none of us know what happened there, but clearly it was some horrific violence perpetrated by someone who has always come across as one of the good guys. |

One of the shortest, vaguest statements possible. Not sure how the legal proceedings haven’t reached a conclusion when the press are saying he’s been convicted. Yes, you can technically appeal, but he’d be in prison whilst you do so, surely? |
My point. Surely if convicted then straight to prison. Not allowed back to the UK. Also 1 year plus 1 suspended seems pretty lenient for smashing somebodies skull. | | | |
