To be fair, they made a lot of mistakes and gave the ball away to us a ridiculous amount. You could say that all three goals came from Hull mistakes (one an own goal and the other two from poor passes straight to QPR players). Of course, it took a world class finish from Beanie and a cool finish from Kone to convert the chances, but you give away that number of chances you are going to get punished. It's not a bad reflection on us. We took our chances and that's what it's all about in the end. But I couldn't believe how many times they gifted us the ball around their own box. Do we always have to be fair. FFS we spend enough time being borderline suicidal. Can’t we just enjoy the win and think we played well for at least five minutes before the Derek-downers start up.

One of the youngest teams in the league, they won't be perfect, they'll make mistakes but they're our players and we have to keep backing them. Well done to the 700 travelling, what an amazing deserved day out.

Big credit to players for the effort. Kone has looked exhausted often but there he was creating his own goal in stoppage time by closing down and deflecting Hill player’s pass that he then took a third of the length of pitch and calmly finished having missed two excellent chances. I like that spirit.
Hull are one of the better sides in this league the table doesnt lie in February, with a squad that on paper many would be envious of. And we’ve deservedly won.
Thrilled for Bennie. Goal and all round contribution very good. Yes Hull were open and mistake prone but he picked and executed right option most times. May I remind everyone he is just 19, Kolli is 21, Ronnie, Kone, and Vale are 22. Theyre going to be streaky for now, but they can already compete in this league, and should be among its better players in 2-3 years with consistent appearances. [Post edited 21 Feb 16:08]

Hull were poor but we played some decent stuff. Could have had 5 at the end. Appreciate Hull were going for it and pushing up, but we countered really dangerously and were actually pressing quite well their centre backs.
Vale’s movement and showing for the ball was good.
Kone worked incredibly hard (even if I think he looks shattered) and took his goal well having missed easier chances.
Thought Mbengue had a very decent game. Gave us so much more there going forward.
Fair play to the players and Stephan. Deserved win.

While Kolli has a goal in him I think Bennie’s all round play is better than Kolli’s. Kolli has a tendency not to retain possession by either misplacing passes, making the wrong decision or having the ball nicked off him. Bennie makes better decisions and his passing is better. Kolli I feel has a tendency to glory hunt whereas Bennie is more team orientated. I’d suggest this is why Bennie had, up til today, been getting more minutes ahead of Kolli. | | | |

Yeah, I thought Mbengue made a real difference, as well.
On Kone....missed 2 good chances, put through again, the pass is on but he takes the shot on and scores. I like that a lot - he shows real character week after week, and his goal tally is respectable, more then respectable if you look at how quickly he's come through the divisions. | |

I honestly hadn't clocked that. There haven't been many seasons when we've looked pretty much safe before Easter. I guess I always felt that safety was something we had to claw our way towards with 2 games left.

I said around the 3rd page of this thread, that we were not really doing much wrong. People were saying its going to be a long afternoon and the back 4 were asleep etc etc
Mbengue looked much more disciplined, no card so thats progress too. And Vale worked well with him to track back.
Saito is not the strongest physically, but he is like one of those dolls that falls over and just gets back up again and keeps trying. The ref's give him little protection either.
