Agreed but you have to be vaguely near the opponents goal to have the opportunity to shoot .

That first half was as bad as I think I’ve ever seen.
It wasn’t just that we couldn’t pass , or defend, or sprint, or get close to an opponent anywhere on the pitch.
It was the body language, the attitude , the ability to do the absolute basics and the ability to read the most simple movements by a pretty ordinary opposition.
If it was up to me Varane wouldn’t get near the team for a while . I thought his attitude stank tonight . Saito too, simply for the reason he has just lost any semblance of being a footballer .
He reminds me of PE at school where the ‘unsporty’ kids were forced to play football and they spent the whole time running around but not actually involved in any way.

But they weren’t the only ones .

Stephen once again hanging himself by his own petard.
Once again loses the midfield before we even start. Picks the wrong players in the wrong positions and is too slow to change it . Half time was 25 minutes too late .

Mbengue played like he wanted a couple of games off and must be furious he didn’t get booked as that’s where all his effort went . Kone , an absolute passenger .
Crumbs of positivity ..and its crumbs seen only under a microscope.
Poku didn’t die after 20 minutes of football and did more in that time than Saito has in about 3 months.
Kolli nothing special but at least provided a semblance of keeping the football ..holding it up and bringing others into play . That’s seen as a positive believe it or not . That’s how bad we are.

But we are sh*t aren’t we . From top to bottom , from back to front , the whole club is utter sh*t.
Completely drained by it now .

1st half reminded me of those games against Leeds & WBA under Ainsworth

You’re right about the first half AND the stats back this up.

On the BBC app the ‘Attack’ section at half-time had a complete column of zeros.

I don’t think that I’ve ever seen that before.

The most frustrating thing for me, apart from the usual lack of fight, is seeing our free kicks hitting the front man time after time. In our predicament you have to make your set pieces count.

Indeed. You are allowed to practise these things, you know, for example, at that lovely new training ground.

That free kick at 1-0 down, just inside their half: We pass it back . Why? You have Dunne and Cook on the pitch, get it into the box. You never know, Brum might gift us a goal.

"Things had started becoming increasingly desperate at Loftus Road but QPR have been handed a massive lifeline and the place has absolutely erupted. it's carnage. It's bedlam. It's 1-1."

The worrying thing is that after that first half, the second half was us actually trying.

Why did it take that long? And why were we still shit anyway?

Stefan Moore, Stefan Moore running down the wing. Stefan Moore, Stefan Moore running down the wing. He runs like a cheetah, his crosses couldn't be sweeter. Stefan Moore. Stefan Moore. Stefan Moore.

Harrison Burrows really lost his shit with Vale over one of those right at the end

Luckily Birmingham were just a bit less crap than we were otherwise that would have been another four or five goal shoeing.

Vale disappointed me last night.

He’s a decent footballer but those two free kicks and a couple of ludicrous offsides he got himself in suggested he maybe was less than interested in us winning.

In a strange way I can tolerate errors with some players, when they simply aren’t good enough, but this fella is. Not acceptable.

Arguably that first half was the worst half of football I'd seen from a QPR team. We were SO deep - playing a team who had lost their last three games, and we barely laid a glove on them. Was that the instruction from the manager? I understand being on a bad run the need to stop the rot but the approach was far too negative against poor opposition, and the players seemed to take that to the nth degree.

So at least that was remedied at half time - Morgan and Kolli improved things (well, they couldn't make it any worse), we played higher up the pitch. Lo and behold, it turned out Birmingham were there to be got at. Unfortunately our final ball was dreadful all game, and don't get me started on the set piece deliveries. What the hell do we do all week in training?? My main disappointment was Birmingham not scoring a second to bring my bet in.

For Leicester Stephan has to go with some version of the line up who played that second half. Saito and Varane should be nowhere near selection.

We go again [

I'm really not sure what Vale is tbh. Doesn't have any pace, very one footed, wont track runners, doesn't tackle - yet clearly has some ability and you can see why he played for England right the way through the age groups. I just don't know where you'd play him.

I kind of get the feeling that in the old days he'd have been one of those guys playing left wing in L1 and whipping in crosses and set pieces, but would never get beyond that.

I saw the same - with an xG of 0.03.

That stat alone must be a new record.

If Varane and Saito both play then you have to start truly believing that Nourry is influencing team selection because he wants to develop and sell these players.

ok, we could and should have been 3-0 down at HT , they hit post, there was a handball , var would give, a few off line but only scored one.
we were toothless, slow, opened up , look tired jaded gone .
to finish 1-0 and have a go late on, well it was better, just. we need players back, what are the physio's doing? when is chair coming to the table? burrell etc we need fresh legs to get some confidence back and get over the 50pt mark . well done those who went and who watched the whole game, i gave up at HT.

if you call that running clive my knees arent as fecked as they feel , constipated jog would be more fitting id say , hes another the cooking squad , decent league one player at best due to his lack of being able to run in anyway .

put him in a race with stephean hakwin with a fully charged battery there would only be one outcome

Surely he's got to be a left-back, surely. He's got all the technical ability for this league. Wand of a left foot but you can't put him in one of the front 4 positions, he's too slow, ponderous and just can't really move.

Young enough to make a change, played there for Chelsea through the academy. Just give him it deep with a Chair-type in front of him and get him to whip balls in. Decent height and physicality for it too.

But we have such a surplus of left backs there's just no need.

It's an interesting discussion point as left back is my instinct too but then again, in the Plymouth cup game Vale played there and was as poor as anyone and was given the run around by a 17 year old.

I think his physical deficiencies are probably exacerbated by what's around him. I would be interested to see how he looked with a combination of quality and pace in the front 4. He clearly has the technical ability and footballing intelligence but maybe needs Burrell/Poku/Chair to balance that?

Thought there was the odd game earlier in the season like Stoke at home where he looked really classy and that he could operate in the front 4 at this level - but then others where he looked leaden footed and so off it.

It’s like starting with nine players.

Cook was the only one who seemed remotely interested, but was clearly frustrated with several players.
