Says we shouldn't focus on short term-ism. Either pushing for promotion or worrying about bad results, keep working with the plan of signing young players, accepts we will get inconsistent results by adopting that plan.
Asks for the fans to build a positive environment around the players to help them succeed. 'Im not saying it's the fans fault'

Let's face it, Flavio gets pelters yet he got us promoted to the Premier League as champions in two-and-a-half years. We can debate why that was and slag him off for being an egotistical **** but them's the facts.
Meanwhile, Hoos has been in charge for 11 years and is still pleading for more time - to do what exactly? What a crock. When will our owners wake up to this grifter?
Flavio almost got us relegated, we only got promoted after he stepped down from the day to day running and left it to others. EVen in that promotion season he tried to sack Warnock a few times but was talked down

I was looking at Brighton's website the other day, and noticed their club values. Especially the last one. Seems to be working ok for them....
'Our values serve as guiding principles for how we connect with one another, our fans, partners and sponsors. As a club, we embody these values in everything we do:
🔵 Treat People Well
⚪ Exceed Expectations
🔵 Aim High. Never Give Up
⚪ Act with Integrity
🔵 Make it Special
⚪ Be Fan Focused'
[Post edited 18 Mar 21:38]
Having values is one thing, the key is to live up to them.
Nevertheless, that list and where QPR are at the moment is like night and day .
"Things had started becoming increasingly desperate at Loftus Road but QPR have been handed a massive lifeline and the place has absolutely erupted. it's carnage. It's bedlam. It's 1-1."

Just an incredible lack of introspection and honesty.
You want fans to stick with the plan: quid pro quo, Lee.
What are you giving us? We give money, time and decades in loyalty. You and your protege can't even tell us what injuries are keeping our best players out and for how long. Give us something back. We can stick with the plan if you let us know what is keeping three of our best prospects of selling players for more than we bought them - Chair, Madsen, Burrell - out, for example. Those three are examples of the plan specifically not working because of a lack of care.
Don't lie to us. Don't describe muscle injuries as contact injuries. Don't cite GDPR when no other club does.
When the accounts are published, come and explain them.
As Clive said, bring the fans with you. Don't say, 'this the plan, it was always the plan in my 11 years here, I'm part of the leadership that has fcked the plan in the past but we're sticking with it this time and if you don't like it, sorry about that - but what kind of fan are you?'
They keep talking about it being a young team, that's the reason for inconsistency. And it is a young team. But much more importantly it is a chronically injured and unfit team. I think is more of a reason for inconsistency. We can never pick our best team, nor can we rest players when it's needed/
It's just incredibly rich for a guy who two years ago told us he was retiring to spend more time with his family in the US, only to promote himself to Chairman, now to loftily tell all in one of his only public subsequent pronouncements to 'stick with the plan.'
Why don't we talk about his plan too? What was/is it?

But he achieved what he set out to do. I get he's not the most popular person but when you compare him with Hoos, who has basically achieved nothing in 11 years and is still obfuscating to give him more time to achieve something undefined, it's pretty damning. How on earth is he continuing to get away with it and can I have a job that lets me do the same please?

Hoos (and Ferdinand) has saved the club from financial ruin.
Pretty glad he did I assume?

Disappointing in my view. It seems his take is that the plan is working, its inevitable there will be bumps in the road but be more supportive of the players (but its not your fault). No reference to the role of the backroom staff, the transfer activity, poor comms, how to keep fans on board. Trust the process, whatever that means! I didn't see him say anything about why QPR supporters should buy into the process? I Just saying at the end of a stream of criticism of fans that he is not being critical is quite a sight to behold. I am surprised at the lack of emotional intelligence and wasting an opportunity to try and rally supporters. If he wants to get buy in, then do something to get it, not simply tell them to be patient!
To be fair to Hoos he has said exactly the same thing about fans supporting younger players in the past. He has been consistent on that front.
But as you say, what's in it for us fans? We pay to watch the first team not the development squad. It's reasonable to expect a certain standard and level of competitiveness.
My main thought is on the development of young players. Is that the strategic aim, if so that is not a good aim.
If it's to support the delivery of a strategic aim to get promoted then great, but I think that plan needs more development and a bit more than just gambling on the next Eze.
As yourself and others have highlighted, there are some quick wins around the comms that could bring us fans along on this journey.

The bit that I don’t get, and seemingly the club are a little blind to currently, is that:
a) high potential, young talent tends to develop best in a stable environment where you have some experience and nous in the team, who can pass some of that on, but also set and enforce standards in parts of the younger lads’ games which needs improvement. This all helps with increasing the value of these developmental assets.
b) if they aren’t fit and playing they don’t develop and certainly don’t see their value rise.
c) they are going to develop the best and have their value increase the most in a strong team, which is winning.
So, if you want to go with this player trading, youth development model, signing some gnarly pros and the odd player who is proven to be good at this level is critical. It will make it far more likely that one or two of the smaller pool of young, high potential players you’ve signed actually develop as you intend and can be sold for lots of money.
It is no good signing loads of promising young players if the environment you drop them into isn’t conducive to them improving and developing. It feels like this is what the club is doing. They are too focussed on the signing bit, and not enough on creating the right environment for the signings to prosper. It’s a bit like buying the best flowers from the garden centre and then just tossing them into your borders rather than planting them properly with topsoil, compost, etc. (note: I am not a competent gardener!).
I actually think some of our signings have been good, but the model won’t work if we aren’t maximising their development by keeping them fit and creating the right environment with a balance of strong, experienced pros, for them to flourish in.
And the added benefit of taking the approach I am suggesting is that the performances and results would likely be better too.
The focus should be on overhauling the Performance set up, bringing in one top player proven at this level, and a couple of experienced pros, alongside retaining Sam Field (or Steve Cook), so that we get the best from Kone, Burrell, Madsen, Poku, Saito, Kolli, Morgan, Edwards, et al, next season. BALANCE.
The focus should not be telling fans to get on the bus or f*ck off.

I wasn't aware of that about rugby players.
A bit of digging shows that this has been happening in rugby union since at least 2018:
The piece says that information around injuries cannot be withheld from current or future employers because any injuries might restrict their ability to do their job, but it doesn't have to be shared with anyone else.
"As employers, the IRFU or professional clubs are entitled to information about the details of players’ injuries in order to ascertain whether they are capable of performing their jobs and indeed any future employer would be entitled to ask similar questions of prospective players/employees who may be harbouring injuries in circumstances where their fitness is paramount to the performance of their contracts."
However, the problem with not disclosing injury details is that social media steps in and fills the void with speculation about why payers are missing.
In America the situation is completely different and they require full disclosure of sporting injuries, bizarrely to protect the integrity of sports betting!
"Since 1947, NFL teams have been required to disclose injuries to “protect the integrity of the league” from gamblers seeking to capitalize on inside information about players’ health. This rule came about after an NFL commissioner discovered a sudden and dramatic shift in betting after a “big” gambler learned that five players on the same team had the flu."

The club has to go down the Development Squad route because of the Profit and Sustainability regulations. To stay within the limits of these regulations we cannot spend millions on every position and pay fees for other squad members.
Should these regulations significantly change or disappear then I believe the club would immediately change it's stance and no longer put as much emphasis on Development.
I do think the Profit and Sustainability regulations will change soon as right now they are as useful to the game as VAR.

Most of the changes to them I've seen suggested would be very bad for us. I.e. spending/losses linked to revenue, and our revenues are crap.

Going backwards instead of forward, great.
It really doesn't encourage new investment in to the game and puts clubs like ours at risk.
The Ryan Reynolds and Rob McElhenney thing is really a one off.
we all dislike the wrexham PR machine but have to give it to them they had an idea to buy and try and improve a football club. they have certainly done that , soon as they come in they brought in experienced football People , moved up a few levels they replaced them with more expeienced football people from top to bottom experienced coach back room staff people running the club , they did it the right way , they used there names to bring in top notch sponsership deals , even a teach the americans football show everything since flavio then Tf etc we havent done not once have we brought in people to run the club bar hoos with valid long term experience and in recent years we have actually turned them away ( S Gallen) yes we take the Pi$$ out of wrexham but they are a very well run club from top to bottom , everything we arent and likely will never be.
everything about the club now and the future is a theory nothing based on experience or facts.

Some of the criticism of Hoos is why o er the top.
The principle reason for the piece was to focus on QPR in the Community Trust. He's relatively new to that specific role. OFC he was asked about 1st team but that was about 3 minutes out of a 14 minute interview. As Chairman, there is very.little he can say on the day to day running of the club
He's no longer Chief Exec, he's not Head Coach, he's not involved in Performance and I doubt he has much to do with Recruitment.
I get that he's been here a long time when there's been.little (no?) Progress. He did touch on that.
If we go into next season with a squad full of players in their early to.mid 20s, leavened by some experience (Hayden, Dunne, etc) then we could be well set.

Hoos on first base?
I cannot bring myself to watch it but, if he's not accepting that experienced, gnarly, dogs of war are needed alongside his creche approach then......... "we're doomed.... dooooooomed I tell thee"
As Rob says above - depart with 500 plus of youre valuable holding to watch young inconsistent players "develop" and go on long losing runs and get rolled over every week? It's not for me.
I agree it is a hard watch and it seems Hoos thinks it is OK to see QPR lose at least 35% of home games each season. QPR' lost 11 in 22/23, 8 in 23/24, 8 in 24/25 and 8 already this season. With Portsmouth, Watford, Swansea, Bristol City and Derby to come. QPR home wins against some of those have been very rare in the last 30 years.
Well I isn't acceptable and I can see attendances begin to fall as other fans start to pull away from QPR.
QPR fans have been extremely loyal to the club in this century and deserve a bit more respect and ambition from the hierarchy.

Well said.
Why is Hoos still at the club? He should have gone with Fernando's, Ferdinand and Ramsey.
The club is stagnating in the lower reaches of the Championship with a plan that has and is still failing.
Developing and selling players is not really working is it? Apart from Eze, the next big sales were Armstrong and Kelman at around ÂŁ2-3m. As someone pointed ot already, the club is losing around ÂŁ2m each month.

i honeslty have no issue with wrexham.Yes they have celebrity owners .Yes sky are fawning over them but look at what they have achieved since they arrived back to back promotions , a very decent squad not filled with promising players from australia who are unlikley to make 50 appearences for the first team btween them , appointed football people who KNOW what they are doing and moved on , hell we would love something even close to that here , id settle for 10% of what they have achieved even with the love in that goes with it . after 50+ yeas of going to games im now begiinng to think whats the actual point , the Hoos interview pretty much summed up the ambition from now on , produce some players hope we dont go down thats what we have to look forward to.
