Appreciate he has previously been quite prolific and has a bit about him. However, 28 year old striker with poor injury record and barely played last season. Not sure that really fits the model.

Yes. My mistake.
But end of June 2023, Murphy Cooper joined Swindon Town on a season-loan - this is post-LF, pre-CN officially. So loans were possible, and happening, especially for young goalkeepers.
What did still exist was a goalkeeping department led by Gavin Ward. He left in July '24 officially (but really in Jan 24), replaced by Andrew Sparkes. I reckon Ward probably sorted goalkeeping loans. I wonder if Sparkes has same oversight. | | | |

Adebayo is only 28 but he only played 2 games last season. So he's not old but he does have serious injury issues. | |

There can’t be many EFL sides in that situation, can there?
Even from a pure training standpoint, how will they run certain drills and have intra squad games? Is the goalkeeping coach going to go between the sticks to help out, or will they take a 16 yr old?
These aren’t major issues and I am absolutely sure we will sign 1 or 2 goalkeepers. But it’s sub optimal, isn’t it? It doesn’t look like great strategic planning, especially given we chose to not extend Hamer, we chose to release Nardi, and we have chosen to seemingly loan Walsh to Wigan, and we’re seemingly looking to sell Cooper. They’re all our decisions, without yet bringing someone in for pre-season. | | | |

Well they haven Warren who turns 20 in November.
I'd rather this than watching Walsh for an entire season again. And I'd rather they take their time and invest money sensibly than rush it so that they can have keepers in training games.
Also given Walsh has left and nobody has told us there's surely an equal likelihood that the replacement is lined up or even in the building but they haven't told us yet. |  | | |
