Good point, but Dembele/Poku play on the right, and Smyth can, as we know.

I quite like that chance to play a 3-5-2.
It also gives the option of moving Edwards into a midfield role against sides playing with 1 striker.
This formation also allows for Kone and Burrell to play together or alongside another striker like Kolli, Lloyd Obikwu (or any replacements) whilst resting one of the main strikers on the bench. This way they shouldn't be knackered out by the halfway stage if the season. Playing with 2 strikers obviously gives opposition defenders more of a challenge than a lone striker. |  | | |

Yes, he played as a wing back but was reliably informed he is wasted playing there. He skill set is very much going forward.

There's one problem I envisage with that idea, if/when one of those three gets injured and/or suspended, we're relying on the unreliable JCS and the slight of build and slow moving Morrison. Neither of whom fill me with 100% Alan Maccaesque confidence.

Timothy Akindileni spent the second part of last season in the National League with Morecambe, who finished 22nd and were relegated. He played in 11 games and was on the bench for the rest. I don't know how he got on but the 18 year old will have obviously gained from the experience.
It'll be interesting to see if he gets another loan season and, if so, in which league. | | | |

I guess they're OK with signing potentially injured players knowing that we have very solid players in those positions already. If we didn't see a minute out of Lamptey or Cirkin then we would still have Kemper and Mbengue.
We've gone from fullback being a problem position to having a problem getting them all on the field! Can't argue with the progress though I'll wait for Clive's assessment | | | |

I get the impression that if Nkeng does sign, he'l go straight back out on loan. Not played a lot of football, might go and do the season with Wimbledon, or at least half of it before he's involved with us. No need to move anyone on yet |  |
