Poku is the most worrying because it keeps happening to him. Similar to the endless problems Willock had. I agree he looks very good when he can limp onto the pitch.
At least the Burrell one may not be as bad as we thought and sensible to not rush him back.

Not looking good at all.
Burrell will need a replacement to be signed either on loan or permanent deal. Kolli has supposedly missed much of this season due to injuries, in which case can he be expected to cover until March? Can we expect Kone to last if he is going to be expected to lead the attack for 90 minutes each game?
The club want to move Frey on and have refused to take Celar back from his loan, so there is a real need to bring in at least one more striker before the window closes or we could see the likes of Smyth and Dembele to lead the line in future games as they did do successfully last season!!!
As for Poku, another hamstring injury. How did he pass the medical, this is his second one already after only 3 starts, to add to the one he suffered last season at Peterborough.
We also won't be seeing much of Chair or JCS, over the next few months as they will only return to training later in January which could be translated to not playing until February.

Iโm not a big one for resting players. Theyโre honed toned athletes and should be able to cope. But during the Norwich game I could see Burrell was knackered - drained. It was as plain as day he should have been rested three days later for the Sheffield Wednesday game. Yet none of our legion of performance gimps could see this. |  | | |

Calling Burrellโs injury a โcontact injuryโ is a bit much, isnโt it? He stretched for a diving header. I contact at all. Was down holding his hammy, walked off holding his hammy, and the commentators called it as a hammy. But no, a contact injury. Some contact injury to be out for 2-3 months (without it being a fracture) too. Canโt recall many of those. And remarkable how a hamstring tear is c. 2-3 months. Coincidence, Iโm sure.
Another hamstring injury for Poku. 2 this season already. 3 (or maybe even 4) in the last 12-18 months, I believe. Bit concerning.

Poku - I know, I know.... I am a boring "told you so" vvanker but..... my wager that he won't make double figures for 90 minute appearances this season is safe. My feelings that he won't make 50 of those across his four year Contract look right as well.
Another crock - avoid trading with Posh!!! The people that oversee transfers there are far, far, far more canny than the gimps we have overseeing ours.
Burrell - that is a concern and a hamstring tear for a pace machine like him needs to be handled extremely carefully with spot on rehab. I'm sure we can all have faith in our army of fitness and performance managers. Fcuk it.

Hoilett had "piano wire hamstrings" for ages but eventually seemed to overcome them and become a regular starter for us and Cardiff etc.
Willock now seems to be available fairly regularly as well. 26 appearances this season albeit he may be a sub or be subbed a fair bit. | | | |
