Injuries happen and you can get unlucky for sure. But feels like we've contributed to this ourselves with a shocking pitch and mismanagement of Christmas which meant we couldn't rotate in our 'easiest' game of the season.
If you want to be negative then Burrell missing 10-15 games until March and Poku missing 5-10 is really really bad news.
If you want to be positive then Ilias Chair should be back in 3 or so games along with JCS.
I don't think the sky is falling in as we have cover for Varane, Morrison, Poku and JCS. But I'm also worried that we don't really have anyone who can do what Burrell can do and will be asking a lot of Kolli and Bennie.
I'd still be focusing on a 'passing' midfielder to ease the burden on Madsen who will end up going the same way if we aren't careful. |
Madsen took a pretty clattering bang on the ankle vs Wednesday and was clearly instructed he had to keep playing. Didn't look comfortable at all for the rest of the game |  | | |

I think the Club said JCS had got his ankle badly kicked. Chair pulled up after delivering a cross holding his leg, like it was his hamstring but don't remember the Club providing any info on that. |

Only a single mention of Ben Williams thus far. How much blame should he shoulder for the four players lost in one game. As Danny P highlights, some players have been flogged to death. Others have hardly got going due to ongoing fitness issues.

Innit. People have had reservations with our fitness regime all season. I don't think it's outlandish for us to ask questions or raise eyebrows when a load of our players suffer a similar muscle injury.
I noted at the end of the window, our fittest & sharpest players seemed to be those who hadn't pre seasoned with us (Kone, Burrell, Saito). Interesting they're now injured or looking sluggish |

id say its prety easy why the club arent saying when its an obvious hamstrong injury , our fitness guru then gets flack , remember we all like to see our fav players play each week , and they do take the fans most of the time for being pretty stupid .

I think you're right about Prav but think it was ACL injuries we seemed to get a lot of.
I'd like to blame the pitch but Sheffield Wed. Managed to get through the conditions without 4 changes by half time, so can't be the only factor.

its something the owners will be hopefully aware of and be asking questions , its two season now and same injuires every week , yes all clubs get them but a lot of ours are the same injuries to the same players , do we look outside the box for a solution ? if it down to williams being a very very good fitness guru for cycling not grasping the diff for a footballer and doing a one style fits all scenario ?

This injury update gives us two things to feel elated about:
A) So many influential players are going to be unavailable for a significant chunk of time / games.
B) That we know about it.
Lastly, what we should definitely NEVER do is expect the club to have elite standards in terms of preparation, analytics and fitness in order to prevent injuries. Nor should we care about or expect something so utterly fundamental as having grass on our fu<king pitch in the vain hope that it's easier to pass the ball and run / tackle without spraining your knee.
Next injury update thread I want party poppers, turbo shandies and a queue for HR in the morning.
