Bristol City local journo says we're talking to them about this lad..

Wasn't in their match squad the other night and wasn't down as injured in the preview, so could be something in it.

I don't know much about him so.....

What can he add to our midfield?

I trust they’ll spend it wisely.

Jamaican International - so I guess Paul Hall will be familiar with him. Another ex-Chelsea junior who never played for them ! Lets hope he is better than Calamity Kane.

Have to wonder why we are looking at centre halves and midfielders?

Well stocked with midfielders now and our back 3 look to be made of granite, De Wijs is of course, made of marshmallow, but he is now surely back up only. Masterson to return next season.

Not worried about the forward line as I put the low strike rate down to the constant injuries and absence of our wing backs and consequential inability to provide supply from wide positions. With better service I would expect better returns.

I have a horrible gut feeling that Dickie is going to be in demand, with Wolves, Leeds and Burnley all in the hunt for a centre half. If 10 million is offered, we have to take it and Cook slots straight in.
We then use the money to buy our own, quality, left wing back.

All speculation, but as I say, seems odd we are looking for players in areas that we haven’t suffered too much from.

Dickie is nowhere near worth £10 million, would be lucky to get a third of that.

Bristol paid £3.5m for Palmer a couple of years back and would surely be hoping to get a fair chunk of that back, they also decided to loan him out after a year so has not been a success for them.
Unless he is really cheap I’d avoid.

Out of all the players we have that could "fetch a fee", I think Dickie is the one we'd miss least, so anything north of £10m in January would be OK, wouldn't it?
Cook in for short term replacement, money for a wing back or two and the chance of keeping the other "wanted men" for a couple more seasons... What is not to like?

Can we go out yet?

If their desperate to get people off the books, go for O'Dowda.

No. O'Dowda very similar to McGeady both at club an International level. On his day looks like a world beater, but those 'days' are few and far between. Don't judge him on a performance against an ageing, just back from injury, converted winger (sorry Adomah), because for every decent performance he has 5 anonymous ones - that's why he is playing for Bristol City.

LoftForWords Transfer Windows Rule No 94:

All QPR 1st team regulars are either:

(a) worth gazillions and other clubs can feck off unless willing to stump up

(b) Irreplaceable and
(b) (i) any actual sale is a giveaway, or
(b)(ii) not sold yet but about to be snaffled up by evil Big Clubs causing us to collapse

(c) massively over-valued by mug fans, been rubbish for weeks, and real value is (insert fraction here) of whatever previous poster just said.

Brizzle want him off their books as they have hit the money brick wall.

They might let him go on a free and we might pay him a small transfer fee upfront for him to accept the move and be on a lower wage with us.

Big issue for me is that Pearson has implied he has an attitude problem, which is what we have intended to avoid recently and rightly so. Also, for me he seems to be a player like Amos so, to me this does not make sense.

Even if he does not come in, it raise the interesting question on our midfield anyway of where does that leave Ball? DMC wise we have JoJo, Field and Dozzel are ahead of him there already.

At a wild guess, I think Ball will be off soon, sold to Luton or Sunderland next summer. Could get £500K for him. With fans from other clubs thinking they have a bargain as they watch his worldie against Cardiff on youtube :P

Brizzles goalie looked good to me, if we sell Dieng he could be a possibility.

zzzzzzzzzz

Palmer looks like a potential fill-in for Chair - that type of midfielder, not competition for Dozzell, Field, etc. If so, would be a good bit of business.

Kasey Palmer on 13:15 - Jan 1 with 5178 viewsDWQPR

If I’m correct I recall that Palmer spent a year or two on loan at Huddersfield and looked a very decent player for them. Another player that could be bought on the cheap and given the Warburton/Ramsey treatment and developed into something akin to a very good footballer like Willock. Have to trust the recruitment of QPR now as they are not getting much wrong.

Does feel a very QPR player these days - academy background, early promise, lost his way but young enough to have loads of time to find it again.

Plus the City fans and hierarchy didn't rate Luke Freeman, so they don't have a clue!

I'm a little concerned he's 25 and has yet to establish himself in football but you make some good points there, particularly about Freeman.

Dickie’s worth what we want him to be worth a d who wants to buy him and how many clubs want to bid.
I agree, he’s not going for £10m. But equally ridiculous to say we’d be lucky to get £3m. We paid £2m and statistically he’s one of the best defenders in this division, comfortable on the ball, good in the air and under contract. If a prem club wants him in jan, regardless of your valuation, QPR are in a sound position to, as Warbs said recently, stick a price on him and accept if that point is matched. For that to be less than £6m given his importance to the team, it being mid season, and our need to get a replacement, would be stupid, and won’t happen - if his contract was running down, or we needed to sell: different story. But neither of those things are in the equation. You may be absolutely right - a prem club may not want to pay that fee for him, but if he does go, it will be in that region for sure.

Bare bones.

Well your valuation of £6m is of course just your opinion and could be equally as ‘ridiculous’ as mine as it’s just a total guess.
Value will be set by any team who decide to bid for him which I think is unlikely as I don’t think he’s Premier League standard. Could see Bournemouth, Fulham or West Brom putting in an offer though.

Yes, a replacement for Chair is what I heard and a good alternate / competition to both Chair and Willock going forward. Feel they both need it. We should get him in quick with Chair off already Monday If we can get good deal.

In a world where Chris Mepham is a £10m+ centre back anything is truly possible.
