I would like to know though, why Whittaker was all alone & having the freedom of the penalty area. Also, how he didn't score the goal himself!

They're just a much better team than us. They haven't battered us, as in chances, shots on goal, Walsh saves, etc and we have had one or two chances although not really clear cut.

But definitely not the tonking that many predicted, so far.

Just think this is a game against one of, if not the best teams in the league, so need to be realistic with our expectations. That's not low standards it's just a reality check.

Keep the at bay at the start of the second half and look to create a few chances as the game continues...

1-1 probably the best we can hope for at this stage, but I just can't lose my schit if we lose to this team. I'll save that for the remaining games of the season...

Predictable so far: they are a slightly above average Championship team who have players looking to make quick forward passes, we have absolutely nobody in the team able to do that. Depressing stuff.

Ball definitely hit him on the elbow, but made zero difference. No way it should be ruled out imo

I’m at the game, quickly checked the sky replay. If that hits his elbow it can’t be a goal as you cannot score if its a handball - that is the rules is it not?

There is a lot of season ticket holders that have sat this one out.

There is a lot of anger on here towards Varane and his passing has been poor but he is very involved. Hayden is hiding today all the time.

Vale has been poor. Saito has at least challenged today and won a few tackles.

Good runs forward by both Mbuenge and Edwards showing our midfield and attacking widemen what to do.

But that goal was so predictable. There you go Boro. Have a one nil lead.

Just f*cking dont concede in minutes 46 to 60.

Happens every week, so please come out fighting and focus.........

I completely agree. The front line aren't pressing, they're hanging back and Boro are simply passing around them. I haven't seen too many decent tackles from us (Ronnie made one on the left hand side). Misplaced passes going forward don't help our cause either.

I appreciate that this side wouldn't be our first choice if we didn't have such a lengthy injury list, but it has been a frustrating watch so far.
