A really dire game today and probably the worse game I have watched in a long time.
The referee had a go at making interesting with some bizarre petty decisions.
Strange call to bring on Bennie, not sure what value he was going to add.
Crossing practice 1st thing for training on Monday as that was really poor today.

Just never let the game flow - Shocking referee that I can honestly say will take some beating this season. That foul on Mbengue that he then gave to City, followed by a yellow for Mbengue was the worst decision I have seen for a long time. Even Sky commentators were gobsmacked.
Had the game been allowed to flow, particularly in the 2nd half we may have seen a more positive game of football and result. |  | | |

Nothing confirmed this more than when their player was down at the end ,(ridiculous shoulder charge by RND by the way) and our players seemed simply unwilling to attack and almost begged the referee to stop the game .

Looks like we are crawling to 60 points. Their keeper could have stayed at home. Boring game, nobody seemed interested and they managed to find another ref for us even worse than the clown at the Watford game. Technically that is two games running nobody in a Rangers shirt has scored. Very odd that when we win at Ashton Gate, we struggle to beat them in the home return fixture. Seems like it happens every season.

Yes that’s how I saw it. First half like a training session not much energy very slow build ups but both sides. Bit concerned about Walsh ability to hold onto the ball after shots saved. They had a couple of chances that we got away with . Second half better but unless he is injured would have left Kone on. 12.30 felt like the team and us as supporters were half asleep. | | | |

Quite a poor game with both managers playing it 'safe' in terms of their tactics - which, from our point of view, I thought was quite disappointing given that JS talks about us being brave on the ball.
First half I thought we really lacked a bit of guile - though I was quite impressed with Vale throughout. He always gets his foot on the ball and looks to engineer something. In the absence of Madsen that was quite a good move to move him into the middle for the last 15 minutes. I thought Smyth and Vale were probably our most productive players.
I'd like to see Adamson given a go at right back in one of our remaining games. I know Mbengue is athletic and he is a good presence but let's have a right back who can play a few one-two's and triangles and try to play a bit of football down the right. [Post edited 11 Apr 16:26]

When I got back thr stream showed the ground again with Roy H sitting on a bench chatting with his staff, then the Rangers players comng out and warming up, this 5 minutes or so after the 2nd half should have started, still no commentary. I guessed the 2nd half must have been delayed for some reason until I realised I'd seen this warm up about 90 minutes earlier. Refreshing the stream showed I'd missed the first 8 minutes of the 2nd half, and my stream had switched to a delayed repeat. Doubt I missed much... | | | |

The warm up and the match looked pretty much identical, so easily done.
The only interesting part of it for me was Mbengue having a meltdown on the touchline after that card and the opposition player then not getting booked 2 mins later. Nobody knew what to do with him - he wasn't even sure himself.
But saying that, and I know it's not a widely shared view, if it's a question of priorities in the off season I'd rather put money into a keeper, CM and LB, and keep developing Amadou at RB. |  | | |

One of the most uneventful games of football I have ever watched. I am struggling to remember anything of note just a few hours later.
Hodgson clearly decided that the way to steady BC was to get super-organised at the back, and it worked today.
I didn't think there was a lack of effort from our lads, but execution was poor and the courage to try something different was missing. A real 'football by coaching manual' game from both teams.
The ref really didn't help. He started giving free kicks cheaply and painted himself into a corner. It wasn't his fault, but he made a bad game even worse.
Great to see RB back on the pitch. Didn't expect to see him again this season tbh. | | | |

Twine was apparently dead from the challenge and we were all not surprised he did not get subbed from the terrible injury he had crying on the floor poleaxed.. then once the yellow was given he had a miraculous recovery and ran off with a spring in his step…who knew ! | | | |
