Why do we keep wanting to change manager when they have broadly done the job that has been asked of them?
No one has suggested that the club want to change the manager. This is just a straw poll to gauge opinion on here. Mind you, I think Nourry isn’t messing about and if there’s not enough progress being made then he’ll be quite ruthless…only with the blessing of the owners of course.
At some point, I'd love to see us be the club that sticks. Pick a manager, build the side, run with it. It's the building the side bit that I'd be changing this time round! Cov into this season with a manager who was already in place, had the whole of pre-season and started strongly and won the league. Lincoln came into League 1 with a manager in place, whole of pre-season, won the league. Bromley came into league 2 with a manager in place, whole of pre-season (and some!) and won (well, not yet, but promoted at least) the league. Cov, Lincoln and Bromley all top 3 in their divisions for squad retention too in terms of minutes played. A lot to be said for some stability on and off the pitch. Lets face it, the constant changes don't work for us

I think it's a fair question to ask because I've had a nagging suspicion all season that Nourry wants to go back to possession football. Recent performances would seem to bear that out. But I'm also not convinced that's the style JS wants to play. So you can see that there might be a parting of the ways, and as I said it's a fair question to ask.
What frustrates me is that we keep making the same mistakes, both in terms of replacing managers who have objectively done a good job, and in this obsession with trying to play out from the back when we clearly can't make it work for us.

JS has done OK and the players seem to like him so keep for now. The tricky thing is deciding if a coach is worth keeping. Southampton would probably be mid table or worse if they hadn't changed manger. May be go left field and get Beale back. Sunderland may have been his 'Leeds' moment and he's less of a bellend now.

I'm in the twist camp. He might be popular and ticks boxes with the hierarchy but I don't think he adapts to games well or gets the team playing as a unit at the top of their level. I don't think he is up to playing with the hand he is dealt at our club and if retained I forecast a long slow demise under him.

As much as he deserves another season, he deserves to have his first name spelled correctly a year in: Julien.
I think both Cifuentes and Stéphan are/were efficient and good Championship managers when circumstances meant they could ignore blue sky-thinking company policy because it patently was flawed and just pragmatically started to collect results, as needs must when the reality of Championship football ambushes powerpoint philosophy designed by people with no experience of the game itself.
Both were/are perfectly good enough managers for QPR, both smart enough operators to get QPR up towards the top six in maybe three years, both good public ambassadors.
I'm sure sometime next season we'll have the same issue come round when "the game model" folds under pressure and pragmatism will need to seize wheel again. At which point we should do run a poll of: Christian Nourry...stick or twist?

We need some stability that’s for sure . JS will stay and I think he should do.
But I think if we get to October/ November and he is still rigidly entrenched in 442 , not adapting to different situations in game and we get a couple of early thumpings, then I think the patience of the fanbase might start to be tested. Mine certainly will be . I still think we might get another thumping this season yet .
More important than the head coach, is going to be getting the overall fitness and conditioning right over the summer, preparing them properly and making sure what signings we do make are the right balance and not just ‘crowd pleasers’, so the head coach has options to adapt .

I do hate inverted wingers though. A winger should have white on his boots, not getting in the way of your strikers.

QPR should also not play possession football or try passing the ball around at the back. I’ve lost count of how many goals and scoring chances conceded doing so this season.
He needs to b his own man and do it his way without interference from above. Dare Nourry to sack him whilst successful.

Stick. We have more points this season than any of the previous 3 seasons. It's quite frustrating at times but considering all the injuries and it being his first year in English football I feel he deserves another season.

Twist if you like. It’ll make not a blind bit of difference. The club is run by Christian and Ben. If Stephan left tomorrow his replacement would be 2.1. He would be a head coach, not a manager. Not a strong character or voice who’s going to start demanding this or that (look where doing that got Cifuentes - boooo snake) He would likely be French, again, because that’s the market the CEO ‘knows’. He would work in the same machine with De Souza, Williams, Betsy, Steve Bould “a methodology lead for the 17-21”… If they’re feeling flush they might let him bring his assistant again. He would be given the same set up for his League Cup first round game and have to take somebody with him to explain who they are - though not Paul Furlong this time, because no.
If there’s a Steven Julien kicking around in Ligue 2 somewhere then get him, save changing the name on the parking spot.
Given that, I reckon keep him around on the basis he’s got a year of Chpionship learning under his belt that might be useful and IMO has done admirably in an insanely difficult and political situation here.
