Seems we’ve replaced London Calling with this. I couldn’t hear it much from the Lower School End over the boos it got.
I like the idea of something unique by a QPR fan but it sounds like someone used AI with the prompt “north london forever but make it west London and much worse”.

No discussion around it, have the supporters board been advised? Sounded crap, is crap, got booed and rightly so. Bin. Although 100% record with it

I always think of you try and manufacture this stuff and force it then you get what you got last night, and look before you all go in on it I know one of the lads who worked on it personally and he’s a top lad, lifelong QPR from a QPR family, and will no doubt be a bit gutted this morning so… be nice.
We’ve got a great music heritage at QPR and a lot of the songs we use have grown organically through that, or were sung at away games etc. we ran out to bloody Fix You by Coldplay at one stage so we shouldn’t be too precious, but even that had a story behind it with Warnock and the YouTube montage etc.
Unfortunately tradition and fan consultation are not a priority for this regime and so you end up with stuff like this happening.
I feel sorry for the lads involved so please do be kind.

The new song was dreadful, was so downbeat and the lyrics were terrible. You can't force songs on fans, never works like telling them not to sing something the opposite happens. You'd think this is what that Supporters Advisory thing is for to run these ideas past fans, maybe they did but been in the works for a year by the sound of it, whoever signed this off needs to have a change of heart.

The fact the club haven't made any noise about it on socials and just left them high and dry sums up the regime.
Whoever signed off on playing it pre-match should be putting an arm round those lads this morning, not going quiet and letting them take all the stick on their own.
Fans wrote it, fans produced it, fans are now getting pelters for it, and the people who actually commissioned it are nowhere to be seen.
If it had landed well - unlikely, I know - they'd have been sharing it everywhere by lunchtime, tagging the lads, making a thing of it.
The second the boos started, the club decided to retreat. That tells you this was never really about the core support in the first place, it was about chasing a viral moment aimed at people who don't go every week. Fine when it works, but you can't cut the people who made it loose and pretend you had nothing to do with it the moment it doesn't.
I don't think the song is that bad, but it doesn't compete with London Calling. Arsenal are a full on cringe fest. 100% fromage. Louis Dunford is the Richard Curtis of football song writing. Bircham summed us up perfectly when he described us as a 'spiv club'. We're a bit rough around the edges, not full-on Millwall rough, but we've definitely got an edge and should lean into it a bit more. Don't even get me started on that poem and coldplay song, such a depressing way to g-up the crowd. There has to be a better way we get fans involved in developing the club culture.

I’m pretty certain they did play London Calling as the teams were read out, but then replaced where they would normally play PigBag with this. Probably because they saw the backlash against dropping London Calling and wanted to jam it in anyway.
It’s an awful song and forcing something takes away what’s good about QPR. We’re not plastic, it’s authentic down there. And anyway, how crazy is it to try to get the crowd chanting “it will be alright, be alright” before kickoff like we’re terrified of the prospect of a match

When I was about 9 I used to make a scrap book of games, with drawings I'd done of the players.
I didn't make people read it before kick off though, maybe the song should have stayed in their bedroom as well?

I always felt like our playing of Bastille 'Pompei' was a little tongue in cheek with its pre-chorus of "How am I going to be an optimist about this?"
Anyone know if that was a sneaky part of why it got played?
I'm honestly too busy chatting away to pay too much attention to the music, and the speakers are dodgy. It isn't a good song though, do feel for the lads who must have been over the moon...but it's just not a good song. Do fear for them with the attention seeking fans we have who are going off big time on socials. Hope they're ok.

I definitely feel there's some kind of nepo link with this. I know I certainly wouldn't be able to call the club and ask for my song to be played.
The song isn't too bad, it has a 00s indie vibe, probably trying to go for something similar to the Coventry 'We Live and Die' song. It would be fine to feature on a video but it doesn't feel anthem worthy and not something played in a stadium, not just yet anyway. Maybe like Northernr said, it needs to be more organic.
