Amazing that the loyal bunch there didn't react more than with a few boos. Times have changed, as we have discussed before. I thought that first half was as lethargic and poor a showing as even QPR have put up in decades; couldn't have complained if it was 5-0 and it was somewhat fortunate it wasn't.
If the fans don't get riled at:

Morning after reflection - I reckon Nourry's a goner by season end.
His "model" is well and truly broken. While the acquisition part of it was so so, players are now either getting worse (not just in first team but also dev team judging by results) and/or not playing cos they're injured . So we're basically stuck with a lot of players losing value and no money to spend. I'd say it's just as likely Nourry walks away this summer as he's fired. I mean, is he really going to want to oversee another season but with no money to spend this time, trying to find another head coach when probably no-one wants to come to our basket case setup? Even if he finds some money down the back of the sofa, I'd be surprised if any good young players look at us after this season and say "yes, that's where I advance my career".
That's the good news part. Now for the bad news part.... I think we're in serious trouble. Would not be surprised if there is a fire sale of sorts end of season, Nourry's whole idea seemed to be based on big sales... not seeing any big player sales this summer based on injuries and performances, hence possible fire sales, led probably by Field. Then we've got to find another CEO and DoF, and our board's track record of decision making is pretty horrific. Given they tend to lack imagination / go for whatever's been dangled in front of them, I would not be surprised if they tapped up Warburton for DOF on the basis he's been as good as it gets under them. Beyond that god knows what they'd think is a good idea.

Nourry is going to be the least of the problems. I think I posted a few months back that the club has gone all in on this new way of doing things.
If they get rid of Nouryy what do they do? Do they dismantle the entire legion of backroom staff? That's going to cost a bomb, they won't walk that's for sure.
Do they parachute in a new DoF? A new CEO? Will they change everything again?
Do they bin JS off?
We've suddenly got, it appears, a lot of unhappy players. Their value is dropping.
This is going to cost an absolute fortune to do. I don't know what the fix is, but I'm not sure the club can afford to sack Nourry or any of his mates. It'll be JS, and we start it all again. | |

When Les Ferdinand was appointed DOF in Feb 2015, QPR were about to be relegated, rock bottom of PL, with several players on £50k a week, including the likes of Sandro, who had no resale value nor intention of contributing to QPR. The wage to turnover was 198%, the highest in football. QPR were also about to be given a world record fine and potential embargo with a squad of over-paid and old losers. Meanwhile, the club trained in L1 standard rented facilities on different sites for each age group...
When he left - which it was time for after sacking Warburton so disastrously - the wages to turnover had reduced by over 100%, to 92%. We'd sold several youth graduates for actual money for the first time in decades, including the club record fee. We also owned our own top-of-the-range new training facilities.
QPR of 2024 was a blank slate. A totally different club. Its most healthy in many ways in a long time. Nourry got the keys to an entirely different vehicle, with finally some playing investment available. At the moment it looks like he's driven that into a ditch.

Mad it's nearly three years ago and he's still here (and mentoring his protege). That must have been when the anti-Les and Hoos stuff was at its peak.
Hoos strikes me as a bit of a Machiavelli. You'd have put money on him going at the same time as Les but he found a way to survive and adapt. I'd love to know what they've got up their sleeves at the moment.

He got rid of a popular manager to install his own man, spent a real chunk of money, doubled down on the fitness side that seemed to go wrong last year.
Even worse is that no development prospects have contributed the way they did last season and truthfully have looked massively out of their depth (Esq, Adamson, Bennie, Walsh). The ones from last season have regressed (Kolli, Morgan, Lloyd) and we have nobody out on loan that has been fattened for market or ready for our team (Kelman).
Look, it could all change and we win 2 out of the 4 home games and a grab a few points on the road to leave us feeling a bit better, but it's really not been progress with 9 games left to play |  |

Had a bit of that 50's and 40's
You won't be getting that on Sunday morning.
It absolutely amazes me what a lot of our rank and file fans have accepted this last 12 or so years. I've gone beyond the point now where I'm surprised there's not been large scale demonstrations at the circus in front of us..... was a contributory factor to dropping my ST after 33 years.
Nourry will be going nowhere.
There's a public quote from a while ago where it was stated "the club will be sticking to the path no matter what and not panicking over any run of form or be it bad or good" or words to the extent. I remember thinking at the time it was basically a golden ticket for the Nourryvirus to do what he wants carte-blanche and was very concerning.
It's another Groundhog Day for me as I've thought we'd get relegated every year since the day dot.... forever thinking the sky is falling in as many have put it. This year feels worse (they always do becuase it's the here and now!!) but bigger concern now due to us falling itno a massive rut at exactly the wrong time with very little option to change anything or turn the circus tanker.
We can only circle the drain so many times and one thing I am sure of; if we do drop it will need something drastic to stop us dropping further due to how the current idiots in charge have set us up.
