| RND called up to the Welsh squad on 13:29 - Mar 18 with 4138 views | Logman | He's done alright but something is wrong with the World Cup if players like Rhys Norrington-Davies, Lyndon Dykes and Kieffer Moore are playing on the stage. Iron out Esquerdinha's positional game and I think he will offer us more next season. | | | |

You have more faith in him than I do and I don’t think he’s done anything as yet to suggest he’s close to a solid, unspectacular LB like RND. Hopefully comes good but I can’t see it. Well done RND.
| RND called up to the Welsh squad on 15:50 - Mar 18 with 3875 views | QPunkR | Despite taking a reasonable amount of flak, I think RND has been one of our more consistent performers across the season. He's rarely had an amazing game but equally he's rarely had a shocker. In this topsy turvy season he's been dependable and I was pleased we didn't lose him back to his parent club in Jan | |

He has been rested occasionally but for a player that was meant to have serious and constant chances of injuries, he has been about the only player, that has always been fit enough to play when selected.

I actually hope we can actually get Larkeche up and running next season. He's been so unlucky after a good loan in Scotland.

| RND called up to the Welsh squad on 18:04 - Mar 18 with 3587 views | Ned_Kennedys | Surprised about the negativity and meh reactions to RND: he’s been one of our best left backs in the last decade, better than Paal and Bidwell for example. His appearance record this season is decent enough considering he was meant to be a crock. Would sign him if figures work for us: better the devil you know and all that. | | | |
| RND called up to the Welsh squad on 18:19 - Mar 18 with 3543 views | dmm | RND has filled the left FB hole adequately this season and has held his own in most games. Beyond that, he's not had a big impact on games - no goals or assists, so far. Should we try and keep him? Possibly but I wouldn't shed a tear if it didn't happen. | | | |
| RND called up to the Welsh squad on 18:25 - Mar 18 with 3522 views | BazzaInTheLoft | I'm a fan of his but he was a panic buy that has damaged our own. I assume for what we paid in wages, we could have brought a young L1/L2 left back instead that didn't derail the long term plan that we just refuse to stick to. | | | |

Well, yes - there are 48 squads of circa 25 players, 1200 in all. They're not all going to be as good as Yamal.

I think you called this one wrong. Larkeshe was lined up to get a fair run in the side but a serious injury scuppered those plans - the club were looking to develop our younger players. I know you felt Esquadina should then have been thrown in but as his performances showed, he was seriously out his depth. We needed someone who understood the position and Championship football, and RND has done ok. If this season has taught us anything it’s the importance of mixing youth/inexperience with decent hardworking pros who we’ve pissed off a bit this season - Cook, Field. Getting in a young league 2 left back to play the bulk of the season, with the squad we have, would have been a mistake in my opinion.
| RND called up to the Welsh squad on 19:12 - Mar 18 with 3399 views | Superhoops2808 | He's an out and out LB - We moan about our RB situation, but given the opportunity we need to sign RND in the summer. Larkeche is unproven for us and they are our only options. We should be getting rid of the Brazilian lad in the summer but he is in my opinion shocking | | | |

So lets say Esquerdinha is as out of his depth as people say he is (I think he's been a mixed bag personally, and was very decent on his debut). Where would we finish in the league? Worst case 21st? Worth it to get a full season into our brightest investments. Left backs don't relegate teams. If we are to pursue sustainability we need to give these kids 20-30 games a season no matter what. Same goes for Kolli and Morgan. They would have been fine plying a full season alongside Cook, Field, and Dunne. That is mixing plenty. I also appreciate it's now moot and we'll never know for sure how the club. We do need to take our medicine at some point though because there are no Ezes in the pipline.

One million percent this! ^^ RND is not a 7/10 every week. His ceiling is 7/10 He can't play every week, and I'm guessing his wages are close to Prem levels. I really hope we are not obligated to buy, we could have had three L1/L2 players and hoped one came good. I haven't seen anything to suggest RND is anything other than average. see long list of Jake Bidwell, Lee Wallace, etc..

You may be right., but teams will target a dodgy left or right back resulting in a total loss of confidence and /or relegation. Might work if we played a back 3 but we don't.
| RND called up to the Welsh squad on 21:05 - Mar 18 with 3179 views | Logman | I'm not writing Esquerinha off yet, not by a long way. I remember Morgan was questionable when he first appeared but now he is the next best thing. Esquerdinha is comfortable on the ball, he just needs experience of reading the game at Championship level. It would be good if we could recruit the left sided version of Mbengue from somewhere though. | | | |

Spot on. I think he is a very decent player. Very reliable and the best person we have had in that spot for a long time. He was highly-rated at SU before the injury, and I can see why.

Bidwell has finished above QPR in every season since he left except one, when he finished one place below. And on RND, for a player supposedly injury prone, he's played in 31 of the 35 games he could have since he arrived. [Post edited 18 Mar 22:08]
