Could the answer be as obvious as what various multiple people have witnessed?

Plenty of players have played in the first team and and then played for DS.

I may be wrong, but Bennie and Esquerdina spring to mind. Plus almost the entire match squad that got beat by Plymouth in the League Cup.

Playing in one league cup match is not what I would call breaking into the first team squad. How many DS matches has Bennie played since playing regularly for the first team? And I’ll give you Esquerdinha but it’s not typical.

But what about the point that JS has made it pretty obvious why he isn’t picking him? Do you not think it’s unusual the amount of noise around such a young player?

Whatever the direction of travel here, it is in no-one's interests to make out he would gladly pay his own fare from the bus-stop outside Craven Cottage rather than appear a valued asset, to be prised away from the club only grudgingly and at high price...

According to Google, Daniel Bennie has played 9 games for the DS this season.

Do you get my point though? Saying he is unfit then not playing him in *ANY* matches he is eligible for at times?

Lets assume you Nourry, and Ben Williams are right, and he's not a great trainer does that really justify the exit of our best goalscorer (rate wise) since Gallen?

We've given leeway to plenty of unfit players and covid fakers that weren't an asset to the club, why are we punishing the one who can command a place or a transfer fee if it isn't because of the ego of a fitness coach?

You are one of my favourite posters Nix, but you are defending the indefensible here.

Rayan Whittingham has invested in a wig and a pair of new predators for pre-season.

Those possessed by devils, try and keep them under control a bit, can't you ?

Yeah, I don't think I buy the fitness angle here.

If the club are going to bomb out every player who seems to lack basic physical conditioning, who exactly are we going to have left?

Or are Christian and Ben planning to have a go and pick themselves next season?

Alright, “can’t stand”, “really doesn’t like”…is that better? Does it make a difference? Or do you just need something to be contrary about?

Quite surprised at some of the negativity on here, as someone else mentioned I definitely don't think we're sitting on a Gallen regen but maybe we should give the kid a break?

We've watched the likes of Tom Hitchcock and similar clearly not be good enough for the level and just kept around, this kid is easily the best finisher at the club and he's 20. Does he influence games enough, probably not. Do we know his best position yet, again probably not. But isn't this what it is about?

The game against West Ham he was one of the best players on the pitch, clearly he's not going to reach them levels every week, young players always struggle for consistency and then you add in the magnitude etc etc.

He's from the local area, he's actually one of our own, he still goes down Goals at Gillete corner most weeks, I'm sure young Rangers fans love him, anyone thats met him speaks glowingly of how he carries himself. He's exciting, got a bit of flair, the whole socks over the knees, the flicks, the tricks, the barnet.... if you wanted a lad to come through your academy I mean he'd tick a lot of the boxes.

What are we doing it for if it isn't to back one of our own and to see them come through and prosper? I thought thats what we're all about now, developing players and making our own talent. Or is it only when they're brought in and can be attributed to a portfolio?

Kolli will get a good move, he's a good age, interesting profile, strong mindset, has played internationally, scored a decent number of goals, connected agent. But will the 1m plus adds ons be a good move for us?

If goals per minute aren't a very reliable way of ranking players, perhaps we should give Celar another go.

Now you're being silly :-)

FWIW - Celar has 0 goals and 0 assists in 454 minutes this season.

Not even getting into the team is probably a better indicator of his competence than his (lack of) goals output.

https://fbref.com/en/players/8

It will be interesting to see what happens with Celar this summer. Because of the tight finances the club might be unwilling to sell him at a loss because that will go straight into the accounts, and if we can't find someone to take him on loan next season we might well be stuck with giving him another go.

this is the main issue hes a finisher , and would probably finished some of the chances in the derby game , the issue is with the type of football we are supposed to be playing your cant carry a player and his out of the box football isnt brillaint , hits the groud easily so when he his hammered refs ignore it and we loose out , hes also had longer runs in the team this season than before and hasnt shown much improbemnt same as paul smith refs dont give him as much as they should becuase he also has the habit of hitting the deck easily, smith does have abilty outside the box though. hes prob gone and if true and hes deleted all social medica about the club that smacks to me of thrwoing his toys out for a club you say he loves , i think we will get 2 million and a decent sell on clause for him when he does go

All this nonsense about a pretty average player, he is not good enough basically and why he is not a regular starter. As I understand it he, or someone associated with him is a real problem.

Get rid, move on, no issues.

If true, I agree, any players who are a genuine problem should be moved out....but given you have some insight, was he a problem before Nourry and Williams arrived?

Kolli off again?
I’d say use a different greengrocers but……

Sadly it looks like he’ll be off this summer and for me that is so so wrong.
Whatever happens I hope Rayan goes on to fulfil his potential and makes certain individuals at the club look the mugs they clearly are.

As someone who has never been totally taken with Kolli, but is sus about the club hierachy atm, I see it like this

- He certainly knows how to kick a football. A really natural striker of the ball and goalscorer

- His conditioning is a long way shy of Championship standard. Both Marti and Stephan have made Marge Simpson noises about it, he is constantly out of puff. There was a game this year where he did some really good pressing, then got on all fours like a cat being sick. Why this is the case, we can only speculate, could be a myriad of reasons, but truth is, none of us know

- There is clearly a concerted distaste for him from the club. Loathe to say no smoke without fire, but you hear the same rumours over and over again from multiple sources

- That distaste doesn't make huge amounts of sense given our general trading objectives. He's a gift horse - young player scoring goals in the championship? Exactly what we're after right?

- The constant drip of real negativity behind him is imo club co-ordinated and fairly insidious

tl;dr - whilt I'm not as taken with him as others, he is clearly an asset we should be nurturing, and on one hand the club's behaviour makes no sense, and on the other it reinforces how much I dislike a lot of how we operate under the current regime

Agree with all of this. I've not heard any specific rumours, but even just based on LFW and WLS coverage something's clearly been amiss for a while.

In the club's defence, if a player's decided that their future lies elsewhere or checks out of training then it can be really hard to turn that mindset around.

Of course we'll never know the details, but it reminds me a bit of stuff with Bright Osayi-Samuel and Ryan Manning from a few years ago. We mess up a player's development (Kolli desperately needed a loan but never got one, Manning was on loan when he should have been here, Bright was left on the bench rather than starting) which gradually breeds mistrust, players eventually start acting out, then we're forced to get rid.

For a "development club" this sort of thing happens far too often in my view, with players who could and should have played much bigger roles for us if they'd been treated more productively.

I like a lot of this post.

It's going to become the latest tiresome lightning rod in the 'good fan v bad fan', pro-Nourry v anti-Nourry, stuff. One side will tell you he's the best product we've had since Clive Allen, the other will tell you he's complete crap and not even as good as Daniel Bennie. In the same way last season was terrible but this season is fantastic progress, even though we've finished in the same position twice.

It's becoming exhausting living in the QPR bit of the internet. Paladini era stuff.

I'm with you, and with Jordan lower down I think.

i think if we got £5 million plus and we have someone else in the pipeline, all well and good.

Last season, i was annoyed we sold Kelman but we brought in Kone and Burrell who performed better at this level than Kelman has this season and we got a few pennies also.

Kolli certainly has an excellent finish on him at times however tends to score the showboating goals and nothing else⁴ and he doesnt contribute much elsewhere in games.

i dont mind him myself but maybe the club have said to him, they have had an offer or they want him out on loan to get full games and minutes, which i wouldnt mind for Rayan.

Maybe has dug his heels in on that.

Anyhow, everything is pure speculation. i hope he improves and time is on his side but everything is complete guesswork from everyone so its hard to be honest to have any kind of opinion on this, as we all guessing.

No-one knows what the next five years will bring for any player's development, but at 2-1 against Derby when Dan Bennie was through on goal then inexplicably decided to try and pull back for Vale and lost a chance, Kolli would have rifled into the bottom corner for 3-1 and secured the win.

That is what I thought at the time and never understood why Bennie cut that back for Vale.

Kolli is a good finisher and can really strike a ball, better than any other striker at QPR, but there is clearly something not right with him, Nourry, Williams and maybe, Stephan (possibly told not to select him).

Re your point about his conditioning. yes, it is not good but the same could be said of many others at the club.

Yes, Cifuentes and Stephan have had problems with this, but Williams is the guy in charge of his and the other players' fitness programmes. The latter is imo, the real culprit here.
