Presumably he hadn't seen Kane's pathetic attempt, as it was almost the same. Stuttered run up, wait for the keeper to commit, put it in the other corner. Except neither was able to switch the direction of the kick after it was clear which way the keeper was going. OK, he's Messi and I'm a random idiot on the internet but WTF? |  |

Bit harsh.
He'd picked his side and then realised the keeper was going the same way and he ended up overcompensating.

On a side note was down the local pub watching the Croatia game and German bombers. 2 world wars and 1 World Cup and even God save the king being sung ain’t for me. If you're going to sing songs about WW2 you might as well sing about the Hundred Years War, for all the relevance they have.

Apparently things have changed following England away in the last few years and while it doesn't seem as bad as it used to be re violence, there's still enough videos on Twitter of some of our "fans" in US bars singing these dreadful songs.

Setting off to see the game in the company of my Ghana chums shortly with a couple of 1.5l limited edition bottles of Blonde Ale from the Sainsbury’s ‘Taste the Difference’ range.
Meanwhile, am wondering just quite what to make of the revelation that, in their last game, Ghana moved the ball towards Panama’s goal at an average rate of 1.96m per second.
