Sandinista is an unusual choice for this thread. I love The Clash and the best tracks from that album would make a fantastic album, but there is a good few duds on there as well imo.

Not really. I also love The Clash - have done since I first saw them in 1977 and saw them many times afterwards. I love all their albums, but Sandinista is the album that demonstrated the move from their raw first album, through Give em enough (my least favourite) through London Calling and then the progression to reflect all their many influences on Sandinista. IMO, its their most accomplished album that resonates with me on many levels. I Can listen to it back to front and front to back without skipping. Its all about personal preference - and for me, this is the one.

Regards Sandinista, it’s become a great album but still too big IMO. Triple with 6 sides ! It would make a brilliant single album and a decent double. But OP suggests ‘All killer, no filler’. Surely some of the tracks on side 6 are fillers. Be they, kids singing, played backwards or just a bit cr@p ? It’s London Calling for me.

Despite a couple of dodgy tracks The Songstress is my favourite Anita Baker album.
It's so soulful and Anita just let rip on songs like Feel the Need.
Yes, there’s always one or two sub-par tracks (Squeeze Me on The Songstress, for example, where they throw in an uptempo number or two to try and sound ‘current’. That’s why I didn’t go all-in with Womack’s Poet albums (although side 2 of The Poet is peerless).
