I thought the grass was probably too long and the pitch was therefore very slow. Could be why some passes were too short.
Salaman was excellent. JCS and Chair very rusty. Lloyd lively on the right, maybe he has a future with us or we can get a fee for him. Wingers went wide most of the time and we created a lot because of that.
Frustrating that we couldn't find at least one goal. Vienna very cynical at times lots of trips and attempted trips mainly in the first half. | | | |

I never saw 1 minute of the game but just keep up by reading this thread.......bottom line is that we should be scoring goals, 100%, playing decent football.
It is not the end of the world but even in PSF wins are important for everyone and all this stuff about training sessions and the first match, etc, etc is a lot of nonsense. The players should be 'well fit' and ready when they return to work after a couple of months off, they should be getting themselves fit and be pretty much up to speed for the first match after a couple of weeks 'in' training.

Literally the first preseason game, two separate teams each half, a match that was all about building up fitness and not a lot else.
As the next games take place you would expect better performances building up to the new season but it’s too harsh to expect that from the first game IMO. |  | | |

Seriously though, rather than downvote I will say it, I agree with many others here Brian, players are at their most vulnerable to injuries at the start of pre-season and with our track record which is woeful we would be cursing as a result of a full bloodied tackle a player is out for several months, just because he wants to show full commitment to the manager from day one.
No one will remember this meaningless friendly, however they will remember it if say Kone is out for the first game of the season because of a challenge he did in the game. |  | | |

Hey I don't the down-votes. It's all just opinions, after all.
Look, maybe I'm wrong, and it is only a friendly, I realise, but a few things concerned me about yesterday's performance:
1) Central midfield not looking for the ball.
2) As a consequence, we were forced back to the familiar sight of trying to advance the play up the sidelines.
3) Very little communication, very little urgency in our body language and sharpness.
We've been saying all of this for a long time now.
I'd like to see us address this in the pre-season.
