I was stuck on the Mail train coming back from Weymouth.It got as far as Woking before the line was blocked and we had to get back to Waterloo by coach.Instead of getting home at 4am I managed to get home by 12.30,just in time to repair the fence and pick up the fallen roof tiles.

Thanks man, but it looks like a half an inch of rain and winds of 30 knots gusting to 45.
If that forecast is correct - and let's hope it is - it's not even a storm in old money, just a bad night. I honestly think the new era of naming storms has people thinking we have a Caribbean hurricane climate but without the sunny interludes. |  |

It was meant to reach these shores 4 hours ago which suggests it’s moving a lot slower than advised.

Nowhere near as bad as '87.Then we had thousands of trees down which blocked roads and got hung up under tension - very dangerous.One guy with a chainsaw thought it was a good idea to cut through a thick branch whilst sitting on it - threw him fifty feet into the air.

A tad blustery here in west London. Took the cover off my motorbike as it could act like a sail and actually pull the bike over if wind gets under and inside.
Got a large wooden double gate to the side of the house and it bent the lever so decided to open it just to let the wind pass through rather than batter against it. |  | | |
