Hello Eunice 19:31 - Feb 17 with 11856 views | colinallcars | Looks like it'll be a bit breezy tomorrow. God, I hope it blows itself out by Saturday, the loss of another Saturday match would be hard to take.

I slept through the 1987 storm probably due to a surfeit of ale. When I got to work in the morning, I was the only one there.

I also slept through 87. Left for work and the tree outside my house on vespan road was laying over my neighbours car 😆 We lost 4-0 at Anfield a couple of days later

I was stuck on the Mail train coming back from Weymouth. It got as far as Woking before the line was blocked and we had to get back to Waterloo by coach.Instead of getting home at 4am I managed to get home by 12.30,just in time to repair the fence and pick up the fallen roof tiles. Stay safe everyone. [Post edited 17 Feb 2022 23:41]

Thanks man, but it looks like a half an inch of rain and winds of 30 knots gusting to 45. If that forecast is correct - and let's hope it is - it's not even a storm in old money, just a bad night. I honestly think the new era of naming storms has people thinking we have a Caribbean hurricane climate but without the sunny interludes.

Spot on Mr McCarthy. If it bleeds, it leads.

Hello Eunice on 08:16 - Feb 18 with 2960 views | stevec | Seems we’ve shut half the country down for what appears to be a swift breeze down my way. Bloke on the beeb doing a massive build up on the beach of Ilfracombe where absolutely nothing is happening If I was the Chinese looking on I’d be telling Putin to get the show on the road and don’t stop marching.

From weather reports to full scale invasion. That escalated quite quickly! “Earlier on today apparently, a woman rang the BBC and said she'd heard there was a annexing on the way. Well, if you're reading, don't worry, there isn't."
Hello Eunice on 08:34 - Feb 18 with 2891 views | slmrstid | Quite calm in Leicester at the moment but supposedly the 70mph winds aren't due to hit us until 11 so we'll see! There was a fairly hefty tree that came down near the Tigers rugby ground from Wednesday's storm.

Are you old enough to remember a bloke on Vespan Rd that repaired motorcycles ? I think it was called GG Mobike.

It was meant to reach these shores 4 hours ago which suggests it’s moving a lot slower than advised. There’s a couple of big trees either side of my house so I could still be eating my words.
Hello Eunice on 11:24 - Feb 18 with 2619 views | Sonofpugwash | Nowhere near as bad as '87.Then we had thousands of trees down which blocked roads and got hung up under tension - very dangerous. One guy with a chainsaw thought it was a good idea to cut through a thick branch whilst sitting on it - threw him fifty feet into the air. Take care out there.

Hello Eunice on 11:29 - Feb 18 with 2610 views | Juzzie | A tad blustery here in west London. Took the cover off my motorbike as it could act like a sail and actually pull the bike over if wind gets under and inside. Got a large wooden double gate to the side of the house and it bent the lever so decided to open it just to let the wind pass through rather than batter against it.
