| Rayan Kolli scores for development squad on 12:16 - Aug 3 by dmm | I wasn't able to decipher the last part of your post, but in answer to your initial question, he should be part of the first team squad because of his goals to game ratio for the first team. They are the best at the club. I agree he needs to do more in games but given Lloyd doesn't look like he's going to make it at this level and Obikwu seems permanently injured, it's complete madness not to have him in the squad. |
id say at the moment his best chance of making the match day sqaud is for us to rec lots of injuries , the famous goals per game stat , how many games that hes started has he finshed ? very few usually cramps up around half time or just after the diff with lloyd is hes tried to make it at this level he still might , hes happy to try anything to improve his overall game and looked all beit agsint a poor bromley team like he had improved,at the moment id say hes well ahead of kolli in a spot on the bench goals per game dont automatically get u a seat in the sqaud these days you need way more to your game than that , tracking back being a big ask in modern football.

| Rayan Kolli scores for development squad on 12:45 - Aug 3 with 4213 views | Stainrod | The enigma to me is that he seems a thoroughly likeable and decent young guy. Maybe Im naive but I get no Taylor Richards off-field vibes about Rayan; quite the reverse. Given his undoubted goal scoring ability and touching attachment to the club he has so many of the ingredients. More than probably any other player at the club I would (as with many fans I suspect) like him to succeed. Yet there is objectively a fitness issue. The club is clearly right on that diagnosis, if not necessarily with the solution. It’s usual for academy players to struggle physically over 90 mins in the Champ. But Rayan’s physicality doesn’t seem to be improving. Sometimes after half an hour he looks as if he can barely walk. So what happened over the summer? If he needed extra conditioning, did the performance team lay on a PT/ coach for him? Did they all b*gger off on holiday, or did Ryan not follow the programme set out for him? I ask not to find a blame figure but more in disappointment as this seems a failed effort collectively. Whether his future lies with us (as I hope it still does) or in a transfer to somewhere where he feels better understood, it is in everyone’s interest to get him fit and firing, physically and (if that is an issue) mentally. He comes across as bright and thoughtful for a young footballer. And we have a HUGE performance dept: why are the obvious ingredients lacking in his development not being added, by - it would seem - him and us? | | | |

The club used to give players indiviual programmes for the summer months , not sure if thats still the case , some player do there own dunne seemed to spend a lot of time in the gym in the summer and even since training has started sure others do the same thing thats the diff between players who really want it and those who want it given to them on a plate , they put in the extra work off the field as well

Don’t agree, his link up play is good and he leads the line well, he’s a strong lad and puts it about

Gone are the days of Alan McDonald picking up the hoddy on site over the summer to keep fit and earn a few sheets. I really think the club either have to part ways or get the lad sorted in the next few weeks. This saga is no good for anyone.

What! Did you see the end of last season? It was a massive chance for him to show what he could do and he just blew it. He offered nothing up top and he most definitely isn't a strong lad who puts it about. Kone, yes, Kolli definitely not. I cannot understand why anyone rates him as he has done very little to earn all the noise. The sooner Nourry moves him on the better as we could then bring in a replacement and then move Lloyd on as well.

youve seen games ive not seen then and i havent not missed one in the last two seasons , he does little running hold up play okish dosnt like to tackle back and legs have gone after 30 or so mins , rarley lasts 90 mins , also has this annoying habit of falling over so easily refs ignore him when he does get clatttered as the oppo know they wont get the foul given agaisnt them all stuff he would have learnt if he had gone on loan , you dont learn the dark arts in the dev squad. fans see him diff becuase hes been with the club since a kid that dosnt last for ever i sorry to say, sat he was basically given a game with who was left , was it to get im fit , was it to say up yours by the club ? the mercy dash to wimbldon in my eyes hasnt done himself any favours with the club esp as its reoppened the usual pre season kolli should be starting every bame argument when he clearly wont and shouldnt be. Negatives: passing, tracking back, some lack of tactical nous stamina and fitness. Positives: heading, body strength, finishing, skill. Good lad and has PR strengths for the club. Needs to work hard on the former to be anymore than a bit part player for us.

Hmm, I'm not so sure. Granted, he's a deadly finisher, but he never gets credited with any assists. Tsk tsk.

| Rayan Kolli scores for development squad on 11:17 - Aug 4 with 2658 views | TheChef | I was talking to a Wycombe workmate this morning, he mentioned they might be looking to get him on loan for next season? Might not be a bad move for him if that happens. Get regular game time and hopefully hone his all round game, for him to kick on with us in 2027/28. | |

An academy graduate since being a little kid, already into double figures for goals and training with his World Cup bound country not good enough for you! We might as well close down the academy today if you think we're going to be churning out better attackers than him on the regular. There's obviously issues of some sort but we'll be extremely lucky to develop a more promising striker than him in a long time to come. Sure, he may not make it but he's got a much better chance than anyone else who won that developmental Cup a couple of years back.

| Rayan Kolli scores for development squad on 15:11 - Aug 4 with 2027 views | bosh67 | Surely we need to keep hold of players like Kolli, Lloyd and the mythical creature Obikwu, because Burrell had a serious hamstring tear last season and Kone's knee is held together with chewing gum. We are definitely going to need at least 2 back up strikers to cover them over the course of a season and we know Kolli, when he's actually fit, has a good scoring record. I am hoping that as he was in the gym during Austria and now in the juniors scoring Zidane type goals that he's being eased through training and should be ready asap? | |

That would be very sensible. If I was advising Rayan I would be telling him to work hard, keep his head down and take his chance when it inevitably comes. I would have also suggested that loan two years ago would be a good idea for his development. Who knows whats going on though, but to not be 100% fit at this time of the season is a worry for me
| Rayan Kolli scores for development squad on 15:49 - Aug 4 with 1926 views | CiderwithRsie | I've always liked what I've seen of him (admittedly largely on video) and I am both as mystified as some on here that he's not broken through and as concerned as others that this has held true for successive managers (at least two of whom have been good managers who have brought other players on.) What concerns me is that a player can come through the ranks, be here for years, and get this close to the 1st team and then possibly end up being let go for what, on the basis of his actual record, is unlikely to be much of a fee. Where or not he ever makes it here or elsewhere, we surely can't afford to be doing that on our business model. Saying we should cut our losses merely exposes that we have in effect lost an opportunity whereas carrying on as we are starts to look like Sunk Cost Fallacy. And if we sell him for peanuts and he does a Dougie Freedman that's even more of a screw up. Season long loan to a good League 1 or Scottish Premiership side (maybe option to recall in the midseason window, is that a thing?) would make me happy because I think it would resolve things one way or another. | | | |
| Rayan Kolli scores for development squad on 16:14 - Aug 4 with 1841 views | NorthantsHoop | It's all a bit of a strange situation and sort of has been for nearly 2 years with him. Seen him play quite a few times now and he has delivered but tends to off the bench. Think his route to making regular first 11 starter was probably cut off when Burrell and Kone were signed. Would not be suprised if he is sold before the end of the transfer window this month, as does Stephan fancy giving Alfie Lloyd another go as back up to Burrell & Kone. | | | |
| Rayan Kolli scores for development squad on 16:40 - Aug 4 with 1768 views | ViewFrom165 | I still can't get my head around the Kolli situation. We've finally produced a 100% homegrown talent that's gone from Under 8's to a minimum Championship level player, and somehow it looks like it's going to turn in to a generational fumble by the club. I've never known there to be such a discrepancy around a player. There's constantly conflicting stories and accounts from people that either say they have inside knowledge from the club or spoke to Kolli directly, then you have people reading to much in to his Instagram activity, and his own Family publishing articles online. All of this combined with the silence from the Club whenever he drops out the first team frame adds fuel to a really unnecessary fire, and also lets Twitter mouthpieces like "William Halliday" perpetuate a narrative that perhaps the Club wants people to believe and turn people against Kolli. That is speculation on my part but we've seen them do that to another popular figure in Marti before. I personally refuse to believe he's causing that many issues that staff and players dislike him so much, all he's done is declare his love and desire to play and score goals for the Club. It feels like everyone is aware of the discourse online, and Kolli is desperately trying to save his reputation and relationship with the Fans by all his recent gestures and attending recent friendlies. Whatever the actual truth is, it's actually sad that it's playing out this way and hampering the progression of a very talented young players career. | | | |
| Rayan Kolli scores for development squad on 17:05 - Aug 4 with 1667 views | Rsole | If I understood correctly, Kevin Betsey’s role is to enhance and work on individual performance. One of the reasons he didn’t want the first team coach’s job. 60,000 miles a year will age anyone, Kev, don’t do it. Dave Coaches aside…. I wonder if he spends time equally amongst players or if some have more natural ability than others (such as the ex all of the goal in the video and the goals per game/minute played stats). | |

| Rayan Kolli scores for development squad on 17:10 - Aug 4 with 1651 views | stevec | Probably born 40 years too late. The old 9 and 10, two up front, might have worked for him. One up front, he’s not your man and the way we play two up front seemed to work best first half of season, with Burrell up top and Kone behind. He couldn’t play that behind Burrell but if Kone was up top then maybe he could be the drop behind, but not sure if we’ve tried that. He’s another one of those good players with a where the hell do you play him tag. | | | |
