Initially I thought offside, had that been the PL the game would have had a 5 minute delay whilst they drew the lines. The system here showed clearly immediately it was onside.
With all the money in the PL why don’t they use the best system again, would make VAR more palatable. |  |

Not sure if you saw it, but RTE had Anthony Barry the assistant coach interviewed towards the end of half time and he was really giving out about how poor England had been and listed the things they’d done wrong. They were shocked at how negative he was, particularly in public.

I thought that was great. The way they stepped up and put a foot on the throat after half time was very un-England like.
We won 3-2 at Wolves many years ago having been 2-0 down at half time and afterwards Kenny Jackett their manager just said "they got ten shots on target across the 90, that's usually a win". We've since called that 'Jackett's Law' among our little group of weirdoes. Tonight England managed 11. Lovely tribute, great win. |  | | |

Obviously was the right talk at the right time Brian by Tuchel.
Our midfield is superb and the attack can be on its day, one of the best, but we have a decent but not outstanding defence.
i think Bellingham interviewed said Tuchel said at half time, go for it, and if we lose as a result, so be it. Like that mentality but the first ten minutes of the second half on another day we could easily have scored three or four goals in that time.
Think we will enjoy this one, but lets hope our performance levels remain at this level. |  |

Yup our defence needs to be quicker out, we need to not fall back in patches and we perhaps need to be more consistent with keeping the ball in the midfield.
BUT... that was really fun to watch in a way that England haven't been fun to watch in a very long time. For the opening 20 minutes of the second half, after Tuchel obviously had a blast at them, that's the first time I can remember an England team not just taking the handbrake off but flinging it out the window. But for the heroics of the Croatian keeper that really could have been 6 or 7.
If they can shore up the defence, not allow themselves to sink back in periods and play at the Prem intensity Tuchel wants them to play at then at the very least we'll be good value to watch.
We were fun to watch tonight. Mad, brilliant at times, and just really entertaining. Keep it up! |  |

Maybe I’m old as I used to look at path to final and pray we got the easy teams. And didn’t really care how we won. But now I want us to play all the best / biggest countries and knock them out. I love the fact he made those subs so we didn’t just sit back and defend the lead. | | | |
