Showed he has what it takes again today, I felt. Really impressive from a 20 year old. Super sharp touch, great one touch link play and he's so strong.

Interesting to see which players looked comfortable at that level generally.

Sadly Kone looked out of his depth all game.

Thought Dunne did well but then go horribly exposed by Summerville for their second.

For me Madsen looks like a Premership class centre mid. Stood out all game as our Rolls Royce player.

Smyth was the big surprise IMO. Really held his own. Was pretty magnificent.

Kone scored. Again. He's doing fantastically for the levels he's stepped up at his age. West Ham played a back three against him yesterday that has cost them £90m.

Kolli, there was a moment in the second half running towards us where we played a long ball up to him, two defenders on him, and he brought it out of the air immaculately, turned one of the markers and beat the other, accelerated away into space in front of where we were standing. That was proper.

Desperate to see him get fit and play the next three months while Burrell is out. Then we can start making judgement calls. But he's got something.

Well put.

Knockers should lay off Kone, whilst he is still learning at this level. He is not the finished article yet. With good management and coaching he should improve and become a regular 15+ goals per season striker at this level, if not higher. He has 6 goals so far and only just past halfway into his 1st season in the Championship.

Edit: I forgot to add that he was up against experienced defenders and in some cases , international ones.

Dykes scored 12 in his 1st season and got steadily worse.

Jamie Vardy struggled until his late 20s when he joined Leicester and then took a few seasons before a more prolific spell in the Premiership.

Carlton Morris struggled to get goals until he joined Barnsley in his mid 20s and even then wasn't prolific, but he did improve whilst at Luton and now Derby.

I think Kone should be given time to improve before he gets criticised by fans.

Well yeah when you look at the strikers we've had prior to Kone, it's a real head wobbler as to why anyone would feel the need to criticise him.

I think Kolli has potential, and better decision making would help and hopefully come with more experience.

Unsure if it's just me, but looking at the body language of people he plays with, they really don't seem to like him.

Strange comment to downvote. Made an observation that is all.

Didn't press enter on this earlier.

I thought Kone was decent and he absolutely ran his blood to water, which to me speaks volumes about his desire to improve.

Don't forget he was up against 80 million plus of central defenders, and that's if I don't count Mavropanos who went off.

Pleased with what I've heard from people who know more that I'm well wide of the mark on Kolli not being liked due to attitude.
Makes it seem even weirder that he hasn't played more...

Only thing to add is anyone who insisted he isn’t a central forward was laid to rest today.

The guy is strong and can smack the ball in the next.

That’s immeasurably valuable.

His confidence is also an important asset.

Goals to chances ratio must be the best we've had for a long time. Natural finisher.

If he can add the tap ins and the poachers goals that Burrell seems to get, there is big room for improvement with Rayan.

Every goals a worldie with Rayan.

And only turned 21 last month.

Club needs to decide what to do next season. If he’s not a “starter” for the manager, he needs a loan to play regularly in first team. It’s a waste of a talent if we stick on bench again.

Or you cash in on him and move on….its the model.

Feel like there's more to come from Kolli, and that he has a high ceiling. He's such a natural goal scorer and striker of the ball - that second goal today and the goals he scored against Wednesday, lovely stuff. And as someone mentioned above, if he can work on his positioning and add some poacher's goals to his game, his value could end up being very high.

I just love having him on the pitch because his thought is always to get a shot away. Find a way to keep starting him please!

I'm of the view that he is too good for league 1 not sure what it would achieve so the only option I think would be another championship club which won't go down well or abroad. I'd keep him myself I think he is number 3 of the strikers and I dont think we can flog Kone so hard again next year.

Could we possibly play 433 with Burrell, Kone and Kolli as the front three?

I like his mentality. When he gets on the ball his 1st and 2nd thought are how to get a shot off. Good for a striker

It's a good thought but what would you do with Smyth, Poku, Chair, Saito and Dembele?

Yes and Bennie, Obikwu and Vale.

I'd try and sell Saito and Dembele as I think they are a bit lightweight for this league. Poku maybe in midfield with Madsen and Field and use the others to rotate and sub more often.

We also ought to be more flexible and be able to play more than one way.

If he had been afforded the game time Kone has had this year, he could have hit 15+. And be worth a fortune.

The player trading model is him and Morgan. “Tune it” all you like, but until the club realise the mega bucks comes from u21s and under - we will be trading in treacle for the next 10 years, making 1-2m profits here and there over 3-4 years.

We’ve been there with Les. Change the tune, and actually look at the data, which they claim to do. But clearly aren’t when it comes to the player trading model and the ages of players and values.

24-27 years olds have a top out value and it isn’t a lot. But Morgan and Kolli do not due to their young age. Sky is the limit. Very odd the club don’t see this. But then again, I think I do know.. your Saitos et al cost far too much, and “need” to be playing to justify the (quite ridiculous) outlay. Politics.

Time to put that aside, because even though Morgan never really got going today, these two lads are not only the future, today, but they are everything the club says it wants. Playing them is long overdue.

No way he's getting loaned. Do supporters of other clubs continually want to loan out their best players as much as we do?

Kolli certainly can finish. If he can work on his consistency he'll be a great asset over the next few seasons.

Never knowingly right.

The time to loan Kolli out for regular experience was 12-24 months ago now.

He does blow hot and cold in games, and he needs to work more on being hot now and less cold, and boy when he is hot is he HOT (like today).

Anyway, enough use of the words hot and cold, but he is showing now he is firmly a Championship level player we need to use more of. Whether he can make the next step up is now down to him.
